Only just seen the theme lol-this sounds really good-amazing choice of theme and genre I think I’ll do alright with the more creepy side of things… have written short (not 75-word short but still) books like that before. looking forward to seeing everyone’s work

Ah, Christine, ye of few years treading Chrons passageways of yore. There have been poetic winners indeed. At first poems were discouraged (but never outlawed) because it was felt that a poem would be too powerful a medium with only 75 words. That proved to be false and there was a time you could almost certainly expect one to three a month.

The 75 is maximum. You can use less if you wish. Also, if you're unsure on a hyphen, slang or made up term, you can always contact a moderator.

The challenge is to tell a story in 75 words, under is fine but go over and the entry is disqualified.

Yes, there is no lower limit to words. We once had a one word story. The theme was "The Seven Deadly Sins" and one wag wrote "Sloth" as his story.
