DISCUSSION THREAD -- July 2024 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Thanks guys :) I love the other entries, and mine isn't in the same league in my opinion - but as the Ending theme was so close to my soon-to-be-released first novel, I couldn't resist an attempt to do a little teaser!

@otaylor .... An Awfully Bad Way to Go .... This is a story whose ending might be very English, but it's not one that a Parson could agree with.

What does it mean to say that something is very, or insufferably, English?

I'm in. A little earlier than usual, as we're off out to see Present Laughter tonight, beamed in from the National, so if I come back doing a clipped Noel Coward accent and/or singing Mad Dogs and Englishmen tomorrow you'll know why.

Anyway, this must have been the fastest I've ever written a 75 worder, less than an hour from first faint (very faint) glimmerings of an idea to actual posting!

@The Judge .... Denouement - A Life in Five Genres .... A story with five endings that made me laugh. I can almost hear The Judge reading this with a droll delivery.

@The Judge - Funny and very real. It reflects what modern relationships are like, the superficial knowledge of the other person, and the illusions and disillusions along the way.

The Judge: A playful look at the relationship between art and life.

Ursa major: A wry example of being careful in your goals.

Christine Wheelwright: An ironic account of the importance of considering all factors.

Vote goes to mosaix.

Saw the date and realised I need to pop in for a read.

Lots to enjoy, in particular the amusing entries from Luiglin and Starbeast. In the end the entry from Daysman was pipped at the death by a very clever entry from The Judge.

Thanks all for all the stories. And thanks to the reviewing team of @Parson @Victoria Silverwolf @Provincial and @RTGR for the consistent updates -I think they make the competition come to life, fair play. I voted for 'The End' in the end, just because it made me laugh at the end of a long day.
