Book Hauls!

Seems as if several people are getting some pretty nifty things lately.... Hmmm. When's the other shoe going to drop?

Thanks, Cat. All of those are going to be really nifty to have, but finding a complete set of Sheridan's plays in really nice shape for $1... (not to mention the Williamson and the Lyrical ballads for that price)... well, you could've knocked me over with an emu's eyelash....:D

The titles I got were:

A Spell For Chameleon
Centaur Isle (finally going to start collecting the Xanth series, which I'd previously put off doing because there's so many of them! I've read only about 8 of them I think.)
Isle of Woman
Shame of Man
Balook
Tatham Mound
Mercycle
But What Of Earth?
Unicorn Point
Chthon (a fave I've been looking for for ages)

(I just did a count and I've got 34 Anthonys so far, so I'm getting there! A hell of a long way to go yet though!)

Yes, Piers is nothing if not prolific, that's true! Chthon was one I remember reading ... ! over 30 years ago! Sheesh, didn't realize it'd been that long!

Anyway... congratulations, and enjoy!:)

I just ordered a bunch of Bradbury and a bunch of Leiber - it's all your fault if I end up living in the street you guys have to come to the rescue!:p I missed a lot of classic SF & fantasy. Read plenty classic mainstreams before and during college days but almost none of the SF & fantasy genre. Thanks for all the valuable recommendations and talks.

Oh well, we may all end up like poor old Diogenes living in a barrel, but so long as we're able to build bookshelves into that barrel all won't be lost!

Allegra .... Between all of us we should be able to get in the book shelves, music and probably a larder, bar and water beds to boot.

I've just been given Ink by Hal Duncan so am a very happy cat. :) Now I read Vellum and Ink one after another. Life is good indeed.

I bought Jenny Nimmo's Snow Spider Trilogy and Dianna Wynne Jones' The Pinhoe Egg.

It's bookweek here in the Netherlands, when buying books over 11,50 euros, you get a small book as a present.
I bought:
- "Giraffe" by JM Ledgard
- "The Pendragon legend" by Antal Szerb (don't know if this has been translated in English, but I'll mention it anyway)

Yeah it looks amazing, but I just don't know where to start! I've got far too many books on my shelf that I haven't read..

Just got:
Moonshine by Rob Thurman, a follow-up to Nightlife which I enjoyed.
Night Pleasures and Night Embrace by Sherrilyn Kenyon (2 for 1 $5)
King's Dragon by Kate Elliot. If I like it there are 6 more to go. Yippee!
Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy 5 book boxed set for only $15!

Again, a nice haul that! Congratulations!

Until I was addressing the query the other day in the Quiet Room, I'd not even known Fantasmagoriana had been brought back into print recently... so today I got the copy I ordered when I found that out. A slender volume, but it does look intriguing and, with its place in literary history, this should be a very interesting read....
