Thoughts About Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince (SPOILERS)

No, you're not, although whether he's the last horcrux is debatable, a lot of people on this JK Rowling forum seem to think that he is one of them.

Just backtrack through this thread and you'll see...

am I the only one who has the theory that Harry is the last Horcrux, hence the need for his demise? heh.

Ah ha! so Im not the only one who thinks that is a possibility:)

well Jammy... Im not sure what the particulars would be, but in Harry's case, it would most likely have something to do with his scar :D

myself, I was under the impression that the act of creating the scar might be the cause of harry becoming the Horcrux. Saying that Harry's scar is the horcrux seems to physically separate harry from his scar more than makes sense.....but thats just my theory:)

If the scar is a curse, and Harry has to kill himself, I'm going to laugh first.

Why?

Because that's just a slap in the face to all those people who hate Harry Potter because it's "unChristian".

As you can tell, I have a grudge against people like that. I'm not Christian myself, but I'm friends with two ministers and have a close relationship with people involved in the church, and out of them all, everyone finds the concept of hating Harry Potter a little lame.

I'm am catholic/Christian (which ever term you prefer) and when i saw current affair programs showing catholics, parents and school teachers deeming Harry Potter as "witch craft', 'devil worshiping', 'a bad influence', 'against their beliefs', 'occult', it made me sick quite frankly.

I do not make this comment lightly - my mum was one of these people.

What made it even worse was that she, and quite a few others, made their opinions without even reading any of the books.

I completely agree with Prefx and share the grudge. Every person can have his or her own opinion and I respect that - but when this opinion is forced upon others and results in Harry Potter books being banned from schools, It is not longer an opinion - It is irrational fear and superstition.

The Harry Potter books have encouraged reading and promote important values and morals for all age groups.

A slap in the face is right my friend but i fear that many people of this negative opinion will not see it or allow any evidence to convince them otherwise.

I agree, people should at least read the books before they make a judgement. I've read all the books released and loved them.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR NUMBER 7

Initially i couldn't believe that DUMBLEDORE is killed by Snape, now i am thinking:

a) He's not really dead, it's been the plan since SNAPE came back from being a Deatheater in the first war thingy.
b) He is dead and that's because SNAPE never did be good and was just pretending.
c) a nd b options together WITH the twist that B is not true but Voldemort and his followers think so

...

I'm REALLY hoping it's c !!!!!!!

I don't know what I'll do if it's all real and bad... :(

xx

I'm with Ada - I really hope its C!

I know how sad I sound but I was absolutely gutted when Dumbledore died!
I got a text from my friend saying 'we are united in grief'.

I am looking forward to next book, but I am sad that the storyis almost at the end.:(

I agree with you there Tier,I found this story, well quite frankly, horrific, I mean what the heck?, its a children book!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is mines.

I am catholic and I have always believed that my faith is about loving your fellow man/woman. I think there are more important issues in the world than Harry Potter.

Just for the record, its Pope Benedict XVI who believes that HP is about witchcraft, etc, give him is due, Pope John Paul II (god rest his soul) had more important issues to deal with.

I am not one of the majority who believes that Harry Potter is 'evil', I think they are fantastic books, who have taught children what it is to sit and read a book, something which I am all for!:)

Oh how I cried (yes really) when Sirius died...

Dumbledore, I expected it but it was still sad, though I didn't shed a tear for dear old Albus...

I don't ever want it end but realise it must, at some point, I just hope the ending does the series justice!

My aunt asked me a while back my views on Harry Potter being an occult. I simply told her this... "It's a story. A fantasy that's encouraging people to read. If people buy into as it being a true story and it being 'evil' then they need to take another look at the bible and how much violence is in that book. And it's the number one best seller for years. As long as we teach our children that Harry Potter is a fantasy story... like Narnia... like many other books found in the children section then they will be just fine. I mean, geez, not every one can be like Laura Ingalls Wilder." :)

I think the fear of the older generation is that the youth of today become corrupt and violent already adding to the already violent world. What makes this fear unfounded, is that children who read... people who read are generally more open minded and less violent, looking to use their words rather then use other methods to make their point. Reading is good! And a story that is fun, and adds magic to our world isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'll stop my preaching to the choir now.

Ps I was also gutted when Sirius died!
*sobs* ME TOO!

Yeah I think we are all cried when Sirius died, all I kept thinking was 'that poor boy (Harry) has got no-one now'. I also kind of expected Dumbledore to died as well, I still live in hope that Sirius's death was 'fake'.

Another point, do any of you think there is more to Aunt
[SIZE=-1] Petunia than meets the eye?, I know she is really anti-magic but there is something going on there...

Thank you Weaveworld. I have to say it ended the conversation quickly. I don't think she was ready to do battle with me, especially since I had read both and she hadn't.

Totally Alia, if you are going to voice your opinion, at least read the book, I just find it really unbelieveable, its a book! Whatever happened to free thought?

If I believed every single book I have read it, I would either be...

1. Looking for The Dark Tower

2. Living in a carpet (weaveworld)

3. Living the life of a siousx warrior.

Not of the above ain't going to happen - well not in this life.

I know I'm silly but you gotta love me.
