Bartimaeus Trilogy

Yes easily. I love the ending to Ptolemy's Gate. It is just the best.

Yes bit sad but it is always good to see an author having the guts to....(so I don't spoil anything for potential readers)

I loved this books, and they are shortly to get a re-read. The plot is pretty standard, IMO, but they're well written, especially Bartimaeus's character.

I don't see a spoiler code around here, so anyone that doesn't want the ending even sorta spoiled don't read the following: let's just say it went in a direction I really didn't expect.

It did for me too.

If you want to post a spoiler then just change the font colour to white. Thats what I do anyway.

How so? He's not like Artemis Fowl is he? I didn't care for Artemis at all... :(

Oh, come on! You dont like Fowl? Fowl is one of the best characters ive ever come accross! I mean, who wouldnt love an irish criminal boy genius? Not to mention Fairies with bazookas. Artemis is better than Nathaniel.
Nathaniel's still pretty awesome though.

I like Nathaniel better than Artemis, especially by PG, when he's slightly more grown up...but I'm going to finish reading Ptolemy's Gate before somebody tells me what happens....

Nathaniel is best in Ptolemy's Gate. Artemis is best in the first book and then number five. I did like Artemis more though, possibly because I read it first but I think that he is the better character. Nathaniel is pretty cool though as Atomic said.

OMG, this was an awesome trilogy! I highly reccomend it, although book two was annoying because it really didn't end. (I hate that in a series book.)
I have to laugh at the HP comparison by wee free hobits above: my series gets this too, but neither comparison fits. Anyway, Bartimaeus is hysterical - best part of these books.

Has anyone here actually finsihed the book. I did and I loved it. The ending was really sad. but it was still awesome.

Um if you read previous posts you would discover people have read all of it.

The best part, by far is the last few chapters of the trilogy. I love the lines exchanged in there.

I loved this entire series. I thought the characters were both sarcastic and funny yet very likable. Bartimaeus is the best modern-day genie story I've seen so far.

None. I liked the last chapter of Kitty and the last chapter of Nathaniel and Bartimaeus. When Bartimaeus was released:( very sad part.

I've read the whole trilogy, its very good as far as young adult novels go, best of the sub-genre I've read since Phillip Pullmans His Dark Materials (though have to admit not having read that many YA novels) Books and his prose is rather refreshing too. I also like the footnotes.

I would really like to know what books are the best and greatest people are talking about. Like if you said "they are good, but not the greatest." If I loved Baritmaeus imagine what reading your books would be like? And I do love this trilogy, I'm a bit fanatical about it, a fraction of what I was like for HP. And Bartimaeus is riot. Im suprised I found such a book, I just picked it off the library shelf- something I never do.

Chiz, for me, some of the greatest would have to be Neil Gaiman's American Gods. It is a brilliant book. You should try it sometime.
