I've read it all aswell, not too long ago actually.
I started it, kind of sceptical, but slowly....slowly it just got better and better. The end is always the climax of his books, and the end of the book will always leave you wondering what will happen next. The second book was kind of upbeat, learning another side to the entire story, it was really interesting. But I have to say, the best part of the whole trilogy, is the ending.
You discover so many secret truths, and Nathaniel just gets so powerful, and he and Bartimeaus slowly become friends, and like the romance story (I'm not going to ruin it for those who haven't read it yet). It was really sad, and I was really really bummed by the fact that it wasn't a happy ending.
I always finish books before I go to bed, because there's like always a chapter left or so and I'm just too stunned to even think anymore, and it makes me sleep like a baby. When brought up in conversation I get heaps intense about it, because the ending wasn't what you wanted ! Instead it was exactly what happened, no miracle, no coming back from the dead.
I would really advise you to pick up this trilogy and read it. If you love fantasy, you will NOT be dissapointed, Jonathon Stroud is a great writer, and the fact that he never wrote another trilogy after The Bartimeaus Trilogy was kind of a bummer.
