Fifty days from today, those of us in the USA will gorge ourselves on A Feast For Crows.

Of course, those of you in the UK and in many other countries will have already stuffed yourselves and regurgitated all over this forum. Your wait is now less than a month.

From October 15 until November 8, 9, 10, or whenever I finish AFFC, I will avoid this forum like the plague. No confirmed spoilers for me, please. I love to partake and to participate in guesswork, but I want to be well and truly shocked when reading the new work.

When I return, I will regurgitate my own first impressions and will most likely spew forth some haphazard speculations for ADWD.

Bon Appetit!

Yeah, I will be avoiding it for much longer...at least until I find it at the local libray or I get up enough money to buy it.

Tyranus, I recommend that you get it used from Amazon if you want to save money. That way you won't have to wait in line for it at the library for months on end. I've found a lot of books quite cheaply at Amazon. (Not to advertise for them or anything- if anyone else knows of better, cheaper places to buy, by all means let me know!)

I'll have to avoid this forum for a while, too. Not because of spoilers, though- I just don't want to read through a bunch of smug postings by satiated foreigners.:p

I thought the same thing Arya. Because of a few careless posts I know all the major spoilers in the Erickson novels :(
I too will be quite absent until I finish AFFC!
Do we, in fact, know for a fact that there is no way to get an early copy once its been issued overseas????

BTW, this was in no way meant to be a request for those of you to not post about AFFC. In fact, I hope the discussions are well developed by the time I come back... then I can restart all the AFFC threads without having to make up my own OPs.

:D :D :D

P.S. Sorry to be so smug, but i'm Welsh - I have to milk every opportunity to be first at something for all it's worth. ;)

I have bought books used from Amazon before and they were in surprisingly good condition, but I doubt there will be used copies when the book is first released.

Indeed, I just thought that Amazon might be selling used copies before your local library's copy was made available to you. :)

I am going to buy it anyway, at least amazon is cheaper than the store...not that I would be able to find it at a store anyway...

Cold.

I was told on this forum that we'd be getting it even earlier than the UK, but there is a suspicious lack of advertising in any of my fave haunts.... If I do get it ultra-early, rest assured that I will post massive spoiler warnings on anything I reveal. Had the sixth HP spoiled for me on this very site (still haven't worked up the entusiasm to tackle it now) so I know what it feels like.... But don't be strangers, all the same.

Not sure whether to rattle through it and post, bleary-eyed the next day, or to savour the moment step by step.

Also not sure if I'll have a choice onceI get going :)

Haha I know I'm going to be losing sleep. Hopefully it won't come into the stores on a weeknight, it's hard enough to show up for work. Ha and I'm sure my relationship will suffer as well... when I'm reading a good book there could be a bulldozer coming through the wall and I'll still keep turning pages, oblivious.

Just discovered one bookstore here has the publishing date as Sept. 28, so for me, hopefully, it's now a Feast in three days! It's like Christmas - don't know if I'll be able to sleep Tuesday night.....

You'd better sleep or Santa Martin will not visit!

This is the worst Christmas ever! The 28th has all but passed, and no sign of my Feast. I have been deceived! Time for some Frey-style retribution, I feel...

I broke down and ordered A Feast from amazon uk. I have three weeks or so to wait, better then 5 week wait for the US release, I might as well just buy the US book too once it comes out. :D
