Guess the comic character

Need a Little help. Can anyone help me with who this is or where it is from?

I must say, I have not a clue of who that could be. Sorry I could not be of help.

What I was wondering was if Green would be willing to supply the rest of us with a fresh character to guess since he was the last to have the board?
 
Seeing as this thread has been quiet a bit lately can I jump in with one?

Who is this guy? I've no idea if this will be easy or not, so hints to follow if needed...

I'm going to say... The original Superman from '36 (?) when he was a bald telekinetic villian.

Reign of the Superman!

Okay, it has been over a year since the last time a guess or a pic has been posted, so I think it is fair to say a "start over" is in order.

To add a little extra to the game (for at least this round), you will be provided with both an attached pic of the unnamed character and a link to a brief slide show of more panels posted on Youtube.

To win at both sites, you will need to post your guess on youtube, also.

This may be quite a hard one so I'll give a clue straight off.

Hint #1: Look towards the roots of modern comics.
 
Hint #2 Well this person first appeared in the late 1890s in American newspapers as part of Hogan's Alley cartoons.

If no-one gets it after this clue I may need to divulge all...:)

PS As I'm feeling generous today, the answer is in the picture and also think of the social mood of those times.
