The Hound? (spoilers)

Then again, Flora, perhaps he is not at the monastery but out wandering... just wandering. When Beric died, he was on service to the king. When Beric came back, he was obsessed with serving the king. When Cat died, she was insane with grief for her son and with anger to the Freys. When the Cat came back (my apologies to Theodore Geisel), she was obsessed with avenging her son by murdering Freys. So if Sandor has come back, I imagine he'll be obsessed with wandering around... and killing people that anger him.

Very good point and never thought of it that way. I think you're right. But I don't think he's dead or undead or whatever. He's still around bidding his time...

Sansa and Sandor? What?? Where did you all get that idea! BLASPHEMY!!!NOOooooo! If they get together I think I'll rip out my hair. They're just too different.

Sorry about the double post, but I must compose my thoughts after the initial shock. That's judt disturbing. Sandor is HUGE, OLDER MAN where Sansa is a sweet, innocent YOUNG GIRL. The thought is just appalling.

Well, we did see a similar scenario with Daenerys and Khal Drogo, and very few people were upset by that. However, I too would be rather disgusted if they became a couple. I suppose that deep down inside I'm hoping that after Sansa has been thoroughly disillusioned by the harsh truths in her life, she'll find her handsome prince and fall in love. I know, this is GRRM we're talking about here...

tsw, so you don't like the older man? Well it seems that Petyr and Sansa is a real possibility. And lets not forget the fact that she is still legally married to Tyrion who is twice her age. This seems to be Sansa's lot in life... unless she's shackled with Robert Arryn or Harry the Heir.

The Sansa and Hound thing might just be what appeals to JRRM - didn't he write the screenplay for Beauty and the Beast? :) :)

Actually, yes - he did write Beauty and the Beast TV series.

Ron Pearlman would make a great Sandor too... :)

Oh, and about the older man/younger woman thing. It happens today, and it happened then. If they do care for each other, then I'm fine with it. It's better than the arranged marriage Sansa was forced into with Tyrion.

What the dwarf sex scenes didn't do it for you??? Oh my giant of Lannister...;)

Well, at least Tyrion was a perfect gentleman with Sansa and never forced his "right" to bed her. I really hope Sandor and Sansa cross paths again. Maybe they'll realize that they both like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.

Am I the only person who doesn't have any romantic notions whatsoever about Sansa and Sandor?

Im sure there are many that feel the same way as you do about Sansa & Sandor but I was at one time hoping she would fall in love with Tyrion but now Im thinking It may be Littlefinger ... YECH!

AU, I'm not very supportive of SanSan (my apologies to BenJen and TomKat), but what this theory has going for it is Sansa's early fantasies and Sandor's hatred of knights. Just like Jaime declaring his disdain for cripples, Brienne's deep need to be seen as beautiful, Bran's dreams of knighthood, and Catelyn's need to feel in control, SanSan's rock solid beliefs have been destroyed.

Martin loves irony, so not only was Sansa not the Queen... she was married to the Imp, kidnapped, manipulated into protecting her aunt's murderer, and forced to pretend she's a *******... don't think it's too much of a stretch to say she will start looking more realistically towards happiness, heroism, and real beauty. As to Sandor, he did not get revenge upon his brother, he did not get to show up the rest of the Kingsguard, and he could not kill all his enemies nor take his own life. It seems all he can do now is accept someone else's mercy... and he seems to be accepting it. Perhaps he'll learn redemption is better than revenge and forgiveness is better than hatred.

I'm not saying it will happen, but it's possible for Sandor to be Sansa's ugly on the outside, but beautiful on the inside knight. And it's possible for Sansa to be the touchstone for Sandor's hope and healing.

I'm right there with you AU. Big ick factor for me on the Sansa/Sandor thing. It has exploitation all over it.

I guess I get the feeling that the Sandor/Sansa thing will have a Quasimoto (sp?) turn to it, and not be a true love story. I think that Sansa will learn to see the good inside him, but COME ON, PEOPLE! The man was a monster before, regardless of how great his opinions of knights are. I think Sansa will pity him, but does she have it in her to love someone who would nonchalantly slice an innocent butcher's boy in half?

no, I don't think she does. Even though she is becoming more crafty and worldly under Petyr's tutelage she still holds to the chivalrous, shiny, happy ideal, and Sandor, no matter how good and kind he is under all his pain and fear and suffering just doesn't fit.

Knowing GRRM hell kill of Sansa too. i mean honestly hes killed most of my favorite characters off anyways. Eddard and Robb were the icings ontop of the cake of rotting death that GRRM keeps serving up. all the good men seem to die (Save tywin). I wouldnt put it past him to kill off Jon or Dany too. Hes the only man who has made me cry :(

Sandor is dead. Why would Sansa be with a dead guy?

Seriously, I don't think the Hound is alive. The gravedigger is a red herring, if that. I mean I do need to reread that chapter but I don't think Martin would kill him off and then make him religious. Just doesn't fit in my mind.

Could be wrong, but it's just my gut feeling.

And Sansa has got way more on her plate now that she's playing the game of thrones with Littlefinger.
