For the Ladies (Of ASoIaf, not this forum!)

Its pretty hard not to like Arya.
As I have mentioned, I am also a fan of Brienne.

But something tells me Meera has a few tricks up her sleeve that we haven't seen yet. I am very curious to see the continuation of her character.

I think Doran Martell is too good a player of the game to allow the sandsnakes any possibility of ruining his oppurtunities. I believe when a character is off screen too long with Martin (exhibit A:Littlefinger) they have a tendency to come back quickly and hard.

Cersei has become one of my favorites during my re-readings. Her arrogance, self-centeredness, unbridled ambiton, and cruelty are really captivating... sort of like seeing a clip of Paris Hilton or Adolf Hitler as I'm flipping channels, I used to immediately switch the channel, but now I pause long enough to mutter "Freak" or "&%#@ you" before changing the channel. It's like I have to acknowledge that they have risen to the top of their chosen professions... media whore and evil overlord. Cersei seems to be a good combination of these two.

Cersei is a disaster. You can hate her (I do), you can loathe her, you can detest her stupidity, and you can use her as a cautionary tale, but you can't avoid her.

Martin started this series (as all fantasy series start) with the Starks as the good guys. But after four books, my favorite characters are Tyrion (he wants the respect of others), Jaime (he wants self-respect), and Cersei (she wants to be worshipped).

I want Jon and Dany to slink back into whatever third rate Shanarra book they crawled out of.

Brienne. As I mentioned before, I am a sucker for the losers, outcasts and hopeless romantics.
Ayra. I love the way she will suddenly alternate between scared lost little girl and ruthless killer; it's all the more frightening for being a natural thing (Smiles who?)
Dany: Fifteen and hell-bent on ruling the world with dignity and justice for all. Wish I knew her in high school.

That sounds like a girl I dated in high school. Ah, Dany...

Wait, my best friend dated Dany... I dated Cersei! She did not look like Cersei, but her moods were pure Cersei.

This is waaaaay off subject, but someday someone is gonna put all my comments together and figure out who I am... then there'll be hell to pay.

Fave femmes huh...
hmmm...
I really liked Arianne Martel - Feisty princesses are great.
The Sand Snakes - especially the one who plays with poisons...the little extra petite one who even Doran refused to actually touch - or touch anything she'd touched.
Arya, of course. I look forward to her chapters more than most others.
Olenna is an exceptional character. She is a champion in the Game of Thrones. A person every woman in the book should look to for inspiration - as Margaery does - i also like her...

I have to say - I loathe Dany - more than any other character including Tyrion (and of all the male characters i hate him the most).
Not fond of Brienne either. Though her own POV chapters aren't whiny as such, it the Jaime and Cat chapters that show how hesitant and praise hungry she is.
Becoming more fond of Sansa too... whether i like her yet i don't know... but she's realised that the world is no fairy tale... Time to see whether she continues to be a pawn or becomes a Queen... and if she plays it right... she could be - at least of the Vale of Arryn.
Asha and Osha are both interesting, but to call Asha a player of the Game is a bit much. She makes her play yes, but ultimately its futile and accomplishes little if anything. Osha hasn't been seen for two books so we'll see about her in the future - is she getting a POV in adwd - or is Rickon? Does anyone know?
Melissandre is also very interesting. Shes mysterious and easily the most powerful person in Westeros at this point (as far as we know for certain) - meaning her own personal power, not her political power - which is also considerable considering she controls one of the Kings and has therefore also great influence over Jon as well.
Cercei...i have to say i truly enjoy her POV... i don't like her as such... its kind of love/hate... she's like a villainess on a daytime soap opera or something. Scheming and plotting, only to ultimately fail everytime, but not without damaging her foes at least, nor without racking up a bodycount.

Meera is intriguing. We still know only very little about the crannogmen and that adds to her mystique. Am eager to find out more about her.

Catelyn annoyed me from the very beginning. I saw where she was coming from and could sympathise, but she was just TOO pathetic for words. She should have stayed at Winterfell and much of the damage the wars have caused might have been avoided.

See, I just got Meera.

Not that that was a bad thing...

Well, that's one less person on my X-Mas card list. :D

Is that an invitation? Tell me one thing, is your address true?

No, it's not an invitation... LOL! It's not my home address, it's my gaming address.
