Favorite non-main character?

My favourite non-main character is Podrick Payne. Saving Tyrion by slaying Ser Mandon Moore whilst just a lowly squire. Forcing Shagwell to surrender by throwing rocks (throwing rocks?!? Such valour :) ).

Quite frankly, Brienne can hang but I hope Pod get's a reprieve; I hope to see him become a knight and redeem the name of Payne that Ser Ilyn has sullied.

Close runner-up is Syrio Forel. He's awesome. But dead.

Hmmm, does Littlefinger count as a main character? He's my choice if he doesn't. His Machiavellian machinations are sheer genius and his abiliy to verbally joust with anyone (and win) always makes for a good read.

If I couldn't use LF I'd go with Jaqan H'gar. I'm intrigues by his abilities as well as his impact, and potential impact, on the story. I'm still a fan of the Jaqan=Syrio theory as well, which would make him even more complex and compelling.

Littlefinger. On a personal level I despise Littlefinger and all that he is, but what he is and what he does (and that which he does is done deftly and seemingly without flaw) is respectable and humbling after its own fashion, if not agreeable.

Even though I despise Littlefinger, he's not one to be despised. He's not one to be trifled with, for that matter.

Old thread I know but I wanted to name a character I didn't see listed (or that I may have missed being listed) but Asha Greyjoy. I find her to be a more interesting female character than Brienne who isn't bad in my opinion...just not all that interesting to say the least (at this point). Asha just has that fire and and personality I could find myself enjoy reading more of if she actually got that much face time in the series.

Asha's "charade" with Theon was classic. I agree, that she's a very interesting character.

In what way do you think Ser Ilyn has sullied the name of House Payne? Just by being the King's headsman and following orders? Sure he looks nasty but that doesn't count for anything, particularly in George RR Martin's world. Ser Ilyn seems like an alright fellow to me. Just a bit cold since he had his tongue cut out by Aerys.

Oh, good grief, a female Tyrion! Frightening. Explains a lot.

Yeah! I like Ser Ilyn. Especially his interactions with Jaime. Thats like saying your Father has sullied your family name if he happens to be a Butcher. Just doing his job. If anything its Podrick giving the Payne's a bad rep. (Although i dont believe this. Pod is cool.)

Interesting to see how none favor Varys. That would have to be my second favorite non-main character. While on this sticky topic let's throw Sandor in there; quite the tragic character. I'm curious about people's lack of empathy or interest towards the prior two.
