I agree with Serin, too. The Nighteyes/Fitz partnership is one of the best things about the Farseer trilogy. From the Liveship Traders series, though, my favourite character was Paragon.
It was a collection of short stories from fantasy authors called 'Legends II'. The story follows the creation of the Rain River Wilds settlement from the diary entries of one of the founders. It's quite good.Do you remember what the title of that book is called? Sorry if I'm being bothersome; I just really love her work.

I picked it up in a Melbourne library...so it's out there. You just have to look. Thanks Somebloke! Much appreciated! It's a shame they don't have it over here in Australia.

What, you didn't think the name meant I was British?
Nighteyes my favourite character. I actually read the two series out of order the first time (I read the Tawny Man series before Assassin's apprentice etc.), but Nighteyes was still able to get me, even just in the one book. I didn't realize it until the end, and then I balled my eyes out! Although, I cried at the end of Fools Fate as well, but more for Fitz (I never really empathized with the fool). The poor man, his life was so terrible! And it doesn't even end all that well for him!
Oh, and I forgot (hence the editing in) I loved Burrich too! In fact, he challenges Nighteyes for my favourite character!
