in the tokra (waaaaaaay back in S2), there is a really cute bit when they (sam and lantash/martouf) hold hands

S & J are humorous together; I like S & Martouf also.

BUT I really have no shipper needs where Sam is concerned. Unlike many of my co-members, I like the way the writers have handled her character, and the "shipper" issue.
 
for me personally they went a little too far in season 4...my phrase is, i don't mind it in the show, just not as the show.

but in the end it turned out ok

I have to resurrect this thread and register my newly converted opinion. I now see Sam with Daniel...yep, I've joined the minority. For one thing, there have been some awfully cute scenes that, I've just started noticing, where Sam and Daniel are in their own little world discussing scientific things, etc. Then it dawned on me that they seem to have much more in common than she and Jack.....

I see the attraction between Jack and Sam as being purely lustful in nature, perhaps a big part of it because they are the forbidden fruit to each other (and let's face it, who could not be turned on by their CO when he's as hunky as Jack). While between Jack and Laira the attraction and feelings were more mature and careful (not love yet---but with definite long-term possibilities), and Sam and Daniel as mature with lustful possibilities :D

I can just see a relationship between S & D lasting longer and being deeper in nature than one between J & S. <shrug> Just my .02!
 
I no that many people disagree with me but I'm gonna support the whole Sam/Jack thing. Evry1 is going on about Moonlighting but Stargate is a completely different show and (hopefully) the writers r a whole lot better than the ones who wrote Moonlighting. If they ever got Sam and Jack 2gether then I agree that it should b at the end of the series but as for the thing about the team changing, well just see There But For The Grace Of God for proof that nothing would change in their attitudes toward each other.

I mean Sam called Jack Sir all the way through it and until that hug b4 he was about 2 DIE!!! you would have never suspected a thing about their relationship. If u want 2 watch a series like Moonlighting, go watch the X-Files. Stargate is well-written and interesting and the writers r excellent.
I think that 4 now they should remain just friends coz it is more interesting and maybe they could have a few flings with other characters but nothing serious. I hope that they never bring Laira or Nerim back but Marty is ok coz Sam wouldn't go out with him. She could never b absolutely sure that her feelings toward him r her own.
 
i so agree. i think the writers can handle it better than most. the whole laira thing bothered me though. :(
 
Well, I'm hoping Jack has a daughter by Laira. I'm not really a shipper, BUT...

I'd like to see Jack with {and I don't mean to harp on this} the Russian scientist {Deanna Troi}.

Sam with that Marine Col. (I've 4gotten his name) who was stealing alien weapons.

Daniel pining away for Shau're.

Janet with Maj. Davis.

and Gen. Hammond some hot young 20-something!:smokin:

and you would not belive it, they played a video during the con, liara got boo'd..i mean loudly, rudely boo'd...i guess they better never ask that actress to come.
the writers did say RDA was in favor of revisiting edora but...if there was a child they wanted to make sure it was big enough to interact iwth. i mean an infant is sort of boring so...i woldn't be surprised if edora is visited in season 6.

sam and makepeace....i dunno bout that one. i could amost see her with major davis more (and honestly, joe in 2001 was adorable)

daniel...well put that one on the back burner, likely forever.

and janet....i'd see her with someone we haven't met.

Dunno if any of you guys have seen it, but I'm dropping my Sam and Martouf banner, and I'm so going for that guy she met in Ascension; Orlan? It was kinda like Meet Joe Black, but he was soooo cute, and Sam definately liked him.

Yes, DSD Has lobbied for that for years...... He likes Julie Christie, I believe.... Lets keep him with someone near his own age!

I guess it's Daniel's fate to have loved and lost.... Darn.....
After the convention announcement I guess Sam will have to be the next torch carrier for the "my love was taken by the Goa'uld's"

I, too, am one of the few who support sam & jack, primarily because I think the writers have handled this arc of the show's progress exactly right, over five seasons. They have not made this issue a primary part of the show, and they manage to write around it whenever they see fit.

I think this is an interesting arc, exactly as I do Tealc's relationship with the women in his past, his son and Bra'tac, and Daniel trying his best to get killed off by any female he becomes attached to.

All jokes aside, I like the way this part of the show has been handled, and hope the writers continue in this manner.
