Growing up with ST: TOS.

when i watch epi's of st tos it takes me back
to my childhood.this was the first sci-fi
prog i ever watched.compared to the next gen
and the movies, the t.v series was pretty basic,
but when your only 10, they looked great.my fav
film was"the voyage home" it had lots of humour.

I grew up watching TOS too every week my dad and I would sit together with our munchies in front of the black and white television (oh Im old) and watch Star Trek ...sighhh it was one of the best things I remember about growing up.
 
I grey up with TNG.. guess youunger than you old timers :)

you know when i was (much) younger and
watching an epi of st tos i wouldn't let
my dad turn the tv over till the music had
stopped playing, don't know why...peachy
 
I remember my brother and sister and I used to play a game, where you had to guess where the Enterprise appeared from in the opening credits. It was pretty stupid looking back now, because it only ever comes from one of two places.

We used to put clothes washing baskets over us, with sink plungers and be Daleks.
 
I used to sit and watch Star Trek on Tv when i was a kid.. while eating my tea after school... Kirk was like a super hero to me .... LOL sad or what...
 
definatly not sad, kirk was like a hero to lot of us kids, it was the highlight of the week when startrek came on...peachy
 
I used to rush home when it was on and sit ready waiting for it....
My dad used to sit and complain all the way through it... Bloody rubbish,,, why have they not got seatbelts in the 24th Century.. and all that... Used to drive me mad..
 
I still the original was the best... for its time.... But TNG, DS9 and Voy are pretty dam good
 
as much as i love watching tng, ds9, and voy, tos will always be my fav, its what started everything, i know the special effects weren't that good, but hey it was a long time ago, and when your just a kid, you don't notice as much...peachy
 
Definately not good sets but as you say when your a kid you dont see that.... I used to love it when they beamed down to a planet... the way kirk used to stand ... ' we come in peace' yer right... LOL
 
he (kirk) always looked so brave, and fearless. loved the beaming up too. and what about those poor guys in red shirts? haha you always knew before they did, that they were going to get killed...peachy
 
LOL.... thats right... any strange faces on the transporter pad you just knew they were heading for death....
 
and what about scotty, you just knew he would always get them out of trouble. have you read any of the tos books?...peachy
 
Thats right... Scotty would always get them out of a situation just in the nick of time.....

I have never read any of the tos books... had enough reading when i was at Uni...
 
lol, but this would be for fun, some of the books are really good, almost as good as watching an episode, or maybe thats just my imagination kicking in haha...peachy
 
Might just go take a look... any reccomendations....
