Growing up with ST: TOS.

Hey MC...

Very, very spiffy! You need to make a transparent .gif if you want to get rid of the background. Email me and I'll walk you through it. Took me a while to figure them out. LOL

Also... at the bottom of each of our posts there's a little red house with www next to it if someone has a website. Click on that and it will take you to the persons website. :D

Night night,

Neo,

I'll give your site a good eyeball when I'm more awake and let you know if there's anything I might want to see... but from what I saw it seems pretty complete!

What are you planning on adding? (Of course.... if you want to keep that top secret, 'tis fine as well.)

Cheers,

Ewlyn ~ Well, I thought I had made it a transparent... but it dosn't seem to be. *shrug*

Now with the word "Enter" can I put the following inside of a tag and make the word go to the bottom of the page?

< align="bottom" > < the link to the index >Enter< / a >< / align > ???

Neo, spiffy! I love that logo of the Federation. When I had my Alpha Quadrant chat up on fun forums, that's the logo I used. Made it look neat! *s*

Mac... you might want to stick the entire thing in a frame. I'll email you some ideas so I don't flood this thread with HTML babble. :rolly2: :rolly2: :rolly2:

Are you going to send her the info on inline frames? That would work out nicely, I think, for what she's trying to do. If you don't, I will. ;)

I also keep everything on the hard drive and test it out before I upload it. Makes it a whole lot easier to work with. Mac, if you don't know how it's really easy.

In IE go up to File and click open it up, then click on open. You'll get a little window pop up with a browse button. Click on that and you'll get a listing of whatever is on your hard drive. Find the page you're working on and click on it. It will open up that page in your browser window as though you were viewing it off of the web. Then you can sit and fiddle with it all you want without actually uploading it. For Netscape, I don't know but I would imagine they have the same type of thing.

Now if you already knew all of that, slap me. :D

Cheers,

Hey MTL,

Nope... wasn't going to use i-frames... hadn't even thought of it. I was going to suggest tables... my current favorite coding technique - but I haven't emailed her yet cause I've been working on my dad's site all day...

I'll go do that now and you can send her stuff on the frames. ;)

Ta ta,

MTL and E, thanks guys.

MTL, I'm printing out those instructions so that I can try it. I appreciate your assistancee guys. *s*

I'm hoping to get some major work on it this weekend. It's the only thing that winds me down after a crazy week at work. *L*

Getting back to Star Trek the original series just for a minute.

Does anyone remember the promotion that Kellogs had out? Apparently they printed fullsize faces of Kirk and Spock on the back of packs of cereal and also cardboard communicators and phasers.

I don't actually remember this myself, even thougth I am 2 years older than my hubby who tells me about this.

So, does anyone else outthere know what he is talking about?

Spacebabe:p

Spacebabe, I'm a trekkie from way back when... used to eat cereals all the time for breakfast cause mom left early for work... so... can't say I recall that at all... not even in the 70's when my son was little...

Does your hubby remember about when this was?

mc

Well, Hubby reckons it must be around 1970.

Could be 1971, when the Star Trek re-runs were popular.

He was more a Dr Who and Gerry Anderson fan but says he remembers the Star Trek things well.

So, can anyone out there confirm this and put my poor hubby out of his misery.

:D Spacebabe:rolly2:

i have got a star trek bbc annual from 1971 and 1976

Do you remember 'Klackers', 'Chopper' bikes and 'Space Hoppers'?

Do your children sing a chart cover version of an old song, by a group you've never heard of before, then demand to know how it can be possible that you could know the song?
