5.10: 2001

So no-one want to chat about this one either??

Ok I will make a start,

I really liked this one...when I watched 2010 I really didn't like the way they got the note and did nothing about it.
I felt that this told us a lot more about it and made SG1 explore the fact of getting the note like I thought they would have too.... :D

Felt a little sorry for Joe at the end..but I guess it was bound to happen...Sam never has any luck with her men!!!

Over all I like this one a lot

Ok I already talked about this on the US discussion, but I'll add some more.
Loved the way they tricked the Aschen guy into reading the word and the ALMOST emotion as they realized what had happened!
I havent seen 2010 but I already don't like Joe, lol.
brought up a good question tho. When the Aschen guy said that they were the most powerful nation (or something like that) and stated that an alliance would have to be with all the people of the earth. We know that the Russians had info on the stargate program, but never any mention of what other countries may know. Surely the UK and other countries would have the right to know. How did the US claim the right to speak for the rest of the world when dealing with other civilisations??
The alliances they have made would have major effect on all the world. Surely the Asgard arent just interested in America? I think its time they covered this angle more.
small spoiler ahead, altho if you havent heard what planet are you from???

Maybe they could replace Daniel with someone from another nation?
They already have an alien on the team (Teal'c).
it would make more sense of they opened the program up to more international involvement.

I agree, but I think they've already chosen the actor haven't they?!

I did enjoy this episode but did guess at the beginning something wasn't quite right. It was a shame about the ambassador but as you say Sam doesn't have much luck with men.

annette :)

I think they should space out the eps where Sam has a love interest. It seems like she has a guy for every ep!! :alienooh:  :kisses:

Yeah lucky her.....;)

Although to be fair she doesn't really have a guy in any episode..she never really gets with any of them

I'm a bit behind the times on this cos I've been away - but taped it - of course !

I think it was a GREAT episode - I always love the eppys where they link in to an earlier one and this really made sense of 2010.

It showed how the Pentagon can change its mind and force the SGC to do things its way when it thinks there are big honkin weapons around ! nice little cameo for Ronny Cox there as the nasty nasty politician

Its was real edge of the seat stuff at the end when Sam was hanging over the stargate - glad to see Joe did the right thing cos he sure as hell didn't in the alternative future in 2010 - he knew about the sterility thing in that ep didn't he ?

Nice bit a humour when Danny and Teal'c coming running out of the 'town hall' in the abandoned city - can't quote exactly but it was the Teal'c equivalent of 'we shouldn't do that again in a hurry'

Also, loved the bit where they catch the Aschan guy out by making him say the word ! man they switched from nice to nasty in a nanosecond there

I've been watching some early Season 4 on DVD this weekend and watched Point of No Return again - can't wait for 'Wormhole Extreme' !!
