Book5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

oh no!!!!!

If hse has no idea when she'll be finished, it probably wont be May then, seeing as next Month is May. :( If she was anywhere near finishing, then it would probably be out in June or something....sounds like all the stuff about the book coming out in May was a rumour after all.

I heard that too, the dates were just guesses made last year.

But, JK Rowling had been pressured by the publishers to write the last book more quickly, and felt she was in danger of not enjoying the writing of this one anymore. So, she decided to take a rest, get married and get a life, and write more slowly.

She also felt that as the last book was so big, for her fans it was comparable to the size of two earlier books anyhow, so she could take longer a break between it and the next one, than between the earlier ones.

I know what you mean. I'm pretty eager to get the next book.

annette :D

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book! I'm diein to read it! I think that Hermione will probably end up with Ron, but I'd rather see her with Harry! Oh well!

I dunno... I mean, why would she even care that Ron had dirt on his nose the moment she met him? Yeah, she's a bit stuck-up at that point, but she's got it where it counts. And I think she and Ron will be perfect for each other when they grow up a bit... kind of like James and Lily Potter....

So when will the book finally arrive?

"She's still writing it," said a Bloomsbury spokeswoman. "Until she delivers the manuscript, we won't announce a publication date. We're hoping it will be this autumn. It probably will be later in the fall [2002]."

My friend in canada told me last night that it is coming out in 42 days. She works at Chapters and she said that it was announced there.

There are lots of rumours of dates, including some next year [2003]. The only people who will really know are JK Rowling and Bloomsbury Publishers. My previous post gave their comment.

This is supposedly the book cover:

So what do you think that the 'Order of the Phoenix' is?

Rumours are that it is an old association of Wizards and witches who oppose the 'Death Eaters' and included Dumbledore and Arabella Figg.

Anything that harms the Death Eaters has to be a good thing. They sound horrible creatures. From the cover looks as tho Harry and his friends could be using a flying carpet. Doesn't the phoenix have special powers?

I agree, I hate those death eaters. The phoenix has healing powers.

Book 5 spoilers.

These are things that JK Rowling has actually said, rather than the speculations:

Harry will be 15 years old.
We will find out more about why some wizards/witches become ghosts and others don't!
JK Rowling says Book 5 "probably won't be as long as Book 4. It will be scary. Harry finds out a lot of things he hasn't stumbled across so far."
Harry, Ron and Hermione are due to take their O.W.L.s! [wizarding exams]
On BBC TV Newsround, JKR said in an interview that in Book 5, we will see some places that have only been mentioned in previous books.
Prof. Lupin and other favorite characters make a return! JK Rowling says we'll see several previous characters and definitely will see Lupin!
JK Rowling says we'll learn if Percy sides with his family... or Fudge!

Methinks the order of the phoenix is.....wait a minute, I explained this earlier in the thread. LoL
