Favourite characters?

Well it looks I'll just be rehashing characters that everyone else posted but oh well.

Jaime - For some reason I didn't hate him even for what he did to Bran. He was compelling right at the start. Now, I love his character. Hope he doesn't end up with Brienne though. That would just be too... mushy for GRRM. Presently, we only guess what his true intentions are and what sort of person he'll end up being.

Tyrion - Funny and mistreated. That's just too tragic. I cheered when he stabbed that certain character =) Hope he makes his way to Dany.

Arya - She's starting to be rather scary but still very interesting.

Jon - Yes, he's a bit of a cliche but still like him.

Dany - Another person shaping up. I think I enjoy reading her PoVs because they reveal more and more of the Targaryen history.

Ned - I think I just like noble characters too much =) Didn't believe it when he died.

Best:

Tyrion | Logs that Bleed. Need I say more? :D

Jon | True he is rather cliched, but hes just too cool.

Worst:

Sansa | OMG could you be more annoying? This character almost ruined the book for me.

Joffrey | I almost **** myself with glee when this little ******* finally got his.

***Spoilers***

Sansa is the dullest character in the book. She starts to show some of her Stark mettle late in the books but is otherwise devoid of interest. Dany is also dull, but for the obvious future importance of this character, I at times could have skipped her chapters.

- Ned Stark is a fantastic character. I was devastated when he was executed. - Arya looks to be developing into quite an interesting character and is the best of the female characters.
- I like the Reeds too, they intrigue me.

Jon is the best character, in fact I like all the characters beyond the wall.

I love Arya, and Jon. i like tyrion too. And Tormund Giantsbane. And Sam. Sam the Slayer.
the evil evil that died too quick is the Boy King, he should have suffered an horrible death into the ticklers hands...
cursed freys, bolton turncloaks, Melisandre the Red Woman, she fascinates me...
do you believe Stannis is really the hero reborn in the sea, the one who the profecies speak of?? my theory is that the new king chosed in the Iron islands will be very important...
see u!

Hello shaggydog and welcome to these forums! You should introduce yourself in the Introductions section mate.

Thank you very much, I love these books!!!where can I find this introduction section??
I hope Sansa will change now she will not be as afraid of Cersei as she was,l and with Lord Robert (heh) and Littlefiger at side she needs to grow clever!!!
I hoped Arya would kill Joffrey...

Ah, too many favorites to mention.

I enjoy all the POV characters, but the true genius of GRRM (and I full subscribe to the notion that he is a GENIUS) is that he can make the secondary characters come alive. For example, in the hands of a lesser author would a character like Sandor Clegane (aka. The Hound) be all that interesting? Instead of a big, mean stereotypical villian with a burned face we slowly realize he is complex, tortured soul with a decent heart behind that nasty facade. His interactions with Sansa, and later with Arya were very revealing. His hatred of his brother (Ser Gregor, aka. The Mountain) will surely bear fruit in upcoming books.

Truly a master of characterization is George R.R. Martin. I believe it is his greatest strength amongst many talents.

Aye! I must say I agree with you on that point. His secondary characters have a life unto them that most other authors only dream about. However, are YOU the REAL lord of winterfell?:D

Yes I am. ;)

Hey, Hodor, did you hear that the mystery POV in AFFC is, in fact, going to be Hodor?

That'll be an entertaining read!

Thanks Leto. Does anybody like the Onion Knight?
I like him. All the characters are written so well...even the secondary ones. I love Dolorous Edd and some of the other black brothers.:D

[edit - I, Brian - first line removed]

How could anyone like littlefinger?? or sansa for that matter??? there are truly some awesome characters generated by martin, but those two gotta be the worst ever. but the hag sister at the eyrie takes the cake. oh i hate that stupid kid and his fat mom! vargo hoat sucks too.

and what's up with not developing the tyrells? oldtown, the heart of knowledge and history of the seven kingdoms there in the southwest, but little to nothing on the house that rules there. maybe some of the next 1300 will go towards that, but knowing martin, probably not.

my top ten favourite characters who live:
10. Bran - he flies from walls, bounces, and owns any animal he wants.
9. Shagga son of Timmett - he now has steel weapons
8. Elia Sand - [edit - line removed]
7. Dondarrian - dead man walking! ANGRY!!!
6. Red Viper - unforgettable fight scene!
5. Eddard - he's so honorable, it's bad!
4. Hodor - enough said
3. Dany - hottie with great storyline; owns multiple dragons and a nice horse!
2. Tyrion - hands down quality taunter
1. Shaggydog - just kidding! i meant to write Arya Stark, clearly the best character ever!

HODOR HODOR... Hodor is gonna become King and re-unite all the lands! Period. End of story. No arguments!:D
