The chronicles word counter!

Title: Why Do You Think I'm A Super Hero?
Start Date: January 2012
Genre: Super Hero (Short story, will also become a chapter in a novel, aiming for the Terry Pratchett First Novel contest, which means I need 80,000+ words by 31st December 2012.)
Word Count: 7970 words.
Status: Finished! :D Now comes the unleashing of my creation upon the helpless critiquers...um, and the remaining chapters won't write themselves. But the short story is finished. Hooray! :D

The Many - Start date January 2012
This is now 20/03/2012 - 20,200.

Also post 150...
The word count should rise now. I have been absorbing critiques corrections a lot and not doing much writing - time to crack on.

Named my Gas Giant system tonight - a moment of inspiration.

TBM is now 16,498 words and Mercer's finally got a whole chapter to himself. Yay!

Word count is getting up there, good work!

I'm heading back in the direction of 140k+ of my book, A Touch of Ice, darn editing adding more to the scenes - mostly in the form of dialogue, which is good, as dialogue is my hardest thing to write. Although most of my dialogue often tends to be arguments. And I haven't touched the first half of the book yet, which will require the most extra content to flesh it out.

Title: Álfar. (Subject to change)
Type: Novel. (First of a two part series.)
Genre: Urban fantasy.
Start date: March 2012. (About a week ago)
Word count: 13.562

Annoyingly now that I'm finally starting to get good (reasonable at least) sleep pattern, I've wrote much less. It seems I have the option of getting proper sleep, be healthy and write hardly anything. Or write myself into a depressed ball of nothing.:(
And now I cant turn the bold off for that paragraph!

Okuporr, who needs sleep/health/life!

I'd better put my new word count up while I'm here, at 20,800 last I looked - 22/03/2012.

My WiP, The Husband, one of my dragon stories, has gained a few thousand words in the computer, reaching 56,425 (there'll be several thousand to prune off it later), but I've got at least ten to twelve thousand words in notebooks ready to be typed in.

The trouble is, the latest block, while first person like the rest, is a human PoV, not a dragon, so maybe it would fit better elsewhere in the trilogy/tetrology (multiplicity, anyway).

Go Chrispenycate. Its good to learn you type first and then edit out like the rest of us mere mortals! No change to my word count - some editing and reworking instead.

Title: A Touch of Ice
Start Date: August 2011
Genre: Epic Fantasy with a mix of urban and high fantasy
Word Count: Down to 148,377 - 22 Chapters.
Status: Finishing touches on editing.

I've changed focus from Adult Epic Fantasy to YA Fantasy, and due to word count have split Emylynn's story over two books - with plans for a long running series of shorter YA sized novels (I'm currently expecting about 10 books in the series).

Title: A Touch of Ice - Awakening

Genre: YA Fantasy with a mix of urban and high fantasy
Word Count: 79,000
Status: Currently completing the final draft.

Title: A Touch of Ice - Revival
Start Date: August 2011
Genre: YA Fantasy with a mix of urban and high fantasy
Word Count: 58,000
Status: After separating the original book in half I'll have to flesh the second part out a lot more.

It is now the 29/03/2012.

Not a word since - work has been getting in the way and it is starting to annoy me. Plot ideas are piling up in my head and fighting it out between them for my attentions.

This weekend for sure - I need to get a move on again.

3) Novel: The Cult of Hahn
Genre: Epic Fantasy (creation myth/parallel universe)
Current Word Count: 71,902 of 125,000
Status:

I'm spending some time with this again. I've been editing an anthology of short stories (including a rewrite of my novella Intolerance) for a while, so I haven't written much new. I've picked up Hahn again from time to time and added 15K or so since my last update. I skipped a section, which helped me get going again, and I've worked back a little, but there is still a missing chapter or two there. I've also reached another important transition looking forward. We are now approaching the nitty-gritty.

Now finished my edit (or at least, this edit) of The Goddess Project. I started off with 195k words and wanted to get it below 180k.

Final count ... 190,257. Fan-flipping-tastic. I think I actually added words in the last ten chapters.

I shall now chop pages at random and rely on "context".

TBM is now 20172 words. Plus notes. Yesterday, I wrote 301 words. Today, I wrote 88 words. *sigh*

Life has a way of getting in the way Mouse, don't let it bug you too much. I missed more than a week recently with 0 words.
