The chronicles word counter!

WP, I'm worried you'll turn up with your backpack and camp out on my sofa for the full term of your tourist visa, eat me out of house and home before disappearing off again. I'm sure we'd have a great time drinking tinnies and watching TV and what have you, but noooo, your place mate.

While I'm here. The Many, started in January 2012, now at 29,500 but in bad need of editing so I'm holding where I am for a few weeks to tidy it up and then take it forward.

Brief pause while I finialised AC for submission.

Sunset over Abendau; 45000 words, feeling positive about the way it's going.
The Murmuring Past; stalled, for now, the other needs out first....

Wow, look at all you lot with your multiple projects!

Today I've written 882 words. 882! Me!

So now:
Title: The Beautiful Man
Genre: Supernatural tragi-mance
Word count: 22,008!
Status: I'm trying to remember who knows what secret about who. The murderer has been introduced. And we're up to four bodies. Yay!

Well, today I've written 173 words. Which is better than the 32 of yesterday.

To be fair, I've had to spend a lot of time pacing my little Google street-view man up and down London town so I can describe places. Damn you, characters, for not staying in the nice little fictional town I made for you.

Doomed:
genre: fantasy of some sort
word count: 4761 according to my word processor.
status: working on it. the prologue is done now and parts of chapters one and two are done. It's out lined as far as chapter 9. when I get there I'll see what i can do next.

i have added 1347 words. in the last two days.

And started a short story today

A Halloween Tale
genre: unsure
word count: 500
status: I work on this when I am not working on my project.

As of today, the Second Letter in The Codex of Innoudor is officially underway.

Name: A Reflection Upon The Ice
Genre: YA Fantasy - A Blending of Urban, Epic Fantasy and Steampunk.
Start Date: 21 April 2012
Word Count: 2,564 - with 56k of leftover up my sleeve from original A Touch of Ice draft.
Status: Prologue finished - Mini adventure featuring my resident Witch Hunter.

Pleased with the progress for just a half day of writing. Could probably have done better though, but always so many distractions to be found...

Sticking my toe in the water on this thread for the first time. Hopefully it will get me going!

Name:
The Academy (working title)
Genre: Contemporary Fantasy
Start Date: March 2012
Word Count: 679
Status: Mostly still in planning stage - I have loads and loads of notes which I keep adding to, but not much on the actual word count yet...

So, I've had a little toe up the backside to get this properly fixed.

Sunset on Abendau; sequel, taking each scene and reviewing it before incorporating into final doc, only counting those words nicely edited;

Up to 15000, prologue and first four chapters.

Title: Why Do You Think I'm A Super Hero?
Start Date: January 2012
Genre: Super Hero (Short story, will also become a chapter in a novel, aiming for the Terry Pratchett First Novel contest, which means I need 80,000+ words by 31st December 2012.)
Word Count: 10,074 words.
Status: Revised, with a beautiful wordscape in place of the dirty old infodump. Finished! :D Now to let the short story sit for a while. If I'm still happy with it in a week or two, I'll consider the short story ready for submission.

sunset over Abendau; sequel

up to 18500 in the nice edited version, but at a plot junction that needs a large file block, and many many hours (good thing I have a veryyyy boring work meeting tomorrow...)

Ack. You lot and your speedy writing skillage!

Yesterday I wrote about 80 words and ended halfway through a sentence (I don’t want Celia to think I’m unprofessional by just) - Don't do that, folks, you'll look at it the next day and have no idea what you were going to write.

Anyways, today, TBM is 24994. That's almost 25k! :D

Finish that sentence and it will be :)

Officially decided to split it into a trilogy when I remembered I had a whole extra subplot in my head that I had completely forgot to plan for.

Only written 5k of actual words (not plan) this week as I've had an unfortunate epiphany that I'm not doing enough uni work and am stuck programming all week. Huzzah

Heh. The end of the sentence was 'turning up.' ;)

Ooh. I wrote a sex scene today. That was fun.

Ooh. I wrote a sex scene today. That was fun.

I've done several, but never actually included them in the book - just wrote them for the fun of it. They were a 'what if they never got interrupted' or 'what would have happened had I not faded to black' situation. Of course there is an uncut version with them still included. ;)

Anyway, been a busy/distracting week, but got some more writing done today.

Name: A Reflection Upon The Ice
Genre: YA Fantasy - A Blending of Urban, Epic Fantasy and Steampunk.
Start Date: 21 April 2012
Hours Worked: 7
Word Count: 8,000 - with 56k of leftover up my sleeve from original A Touch of Ice draft.
Status: Up to third chapter (fourth counting prologue) - freed one of my heroines from a tight situation and sent her on a little journey into the bowels of the world.

Nice... sounds fun how many words was it?

Um. Well, it was more of a sex sentence. Ok, it was a sex sentence. 34 words.

Gosh, that was quick... I would say more, but don't want to get in trouble for non family friendly comments. :D

Sunset over Abendau; after a day of laying concrete and revisiting first draft to repair plot hole, back to writing today

23500, about a quarter of the way through the plot, so staying tight to word estimation.

Gosh, that was quick... I would say more, but don't want to get in trouble for non family friendly comments. :D

Heh! It wasn't the POV character um... taking part. It was more of a 'walking in on' moment.

Sunset over Abendau

You know, I woke up with that title stuck in my head this morning!

On topic:

TBM 25563 words currently. I'm mid-scene.
