If it is any consolation, i have shelved Galaxy for the same reason and will come back to it later. Which means I am playing with a different shelved project snd wondering about finishing that trilogy... Things appear to have settled in my subconscious over the last eight weeks which wish to be told.

Cool.

I'm going back to working on TBM cos I can no longer write new stuff.

I'm trying to fix all the awful, awful description in TBM. I'm currently cutting paragraphs out and sticking them in a new document, editing them, then pasting them back in (that way, I can write several versions of the same thing before I decide which one to paste in). So, it's now 83,970 words.

Up to around 10,900 words. Feeling good about the outcome so far. But who doesnt with their own work I suppose. This being my first time trying to write a book I am pleased to say its been over a month and I haven't given up. Still positive and enjoying the process.

Got an unexpected two days off work (I must be the only person who goes yay to cancelled meetings!) and worked away today. Broke the 30000 and am now on 31337. Getting very drafty but I reckon first draft will end up about 40-45000 which is high for me for the draft. Then I get to shape.

Somehow I went backwards again. I got to 30.250 and have shelved it to have a think about things. One story line is working, the other isn't. Hmmm

So, in the meantime, Abendau's Legacy, which was the third book I thought I mightn't do, has been restarted. (I felt that one of the key storylines was now looking like I'd made a character tokenistically bisexual, and he's too important to be a token, and, you know, Alc was right in my crits thread: the bad guys weren't getting done by the good guys and that is distinctinctly not satisfying):

15,686. Enjoying it immensely and it's keeping my mind off submitting and what not.

Despite a change in word processing programs, managed to finish chapter 19. Next up an Interlude. Some of these later chapters are really going to need a lot of work and rewrites, but I continue apace, just crossing the 80,000 word mark.

1261 words today, which brings me up to just over 10,000, half of my projected book length.

Hoping to have Tessa finished and ready for revision by the end of the month. Nothing like having a daughter saying "hurry up, I want the next chapter!" to get you moving!!

Have another project bubbling away on the back burner, MG this time, which I'm quite excited about.

Sitting at 59,984 after shedding 351. I'd like to get this first half of the book down to 55,000 to give me a bit more room in the second half while still staying under 120,000 in total.
