Cos I've planned them. Me and my meticulous plotting. I do little TV episode descriptions of each chapter, it's great.

Though knowing me I'll write loads more than I originally intended and end up with 30 chapters.

Is there a word cutter thread? I'm trying to get my total word count to a publishable 120,000, and have a strong two part structure. Having finished the first part, I'm trying to do an edit that strengthens the story while getting the first half down to 55 - 60,000 words. Anyway, might be fun to have the same sort of thread, but for editing down.

So, 33,269, with the end still to be drafted, but for now, back to the beginning and add some layers and structure.

Galaxy has shrunk to 25406, but that's okay. I've finished the draft of part one and two, and whilst it needs a lot of polishing, it's much neater than my usual first drafts, so I'm cool with it.

Abendau, I finished an edit and am now looking at the first scene and trying to decide what to do with it.

Sunset is getting a bit of editing from beta feedback.

Sweet! I managed to rework 3 chapters last week in my WIP, the Siege of Gernrik, dropping from 61,750 words to 61,025.

15 more chapters to edit, should get me down to 60,000 easily, so maybe the goal should be 55,000. Then I'll prolly land around 58,000.

My book is taking great form in my head and growing constantly. I must admit that it is quite fun at this point. The possiblities are endless!

That being said, after a full reread and slight edit. I have finished chapter 4 and my current word count is 7,767.

Another chapter edited, word count sitting at 60,832, a cut of ~200 words. If I can carry that average over the rest of my chapters, I should be able to cut another 3,000 words.

Got an unexpected two days off work (I must be the only person who goes yay to cancelled meetings!) and worked away today. Broke the 30000 and am now on 31337. Getting very drafty but I reckon first draft will end up about 40-45000 which is high for me for the draft. Then I get to shape.

After a little break to accommodate everyone being sick, managed to get back to work. I've done a lot of planning and now have all the final chapter planned out, so I just have to write them.

Of course not been doing much over the last few weeks, but the word count has increased to 74,079

If it is any consolation, i have shelved Galaxy for the same reason and will come back to it later. Which means I am playing with a different shelved project snd wondering about finishing that trilogy... Things appear to have settled in my subconscious over the last eight weeks which wish to be told.
