The chronicles word counter!

Thanks Brev and mouse.

Bowler file was recovered and sorted., unfortunately it looks like another one might be corrupted too.

Me: 6419 of the new thing now! (You'll soon be owing me that cake, Glitch. ;)) Though I think two of the characters are about to get jiggy so I've come to a bit of a halt.

Well it looks like you written nearly 1.5k words since I said that; so I'm guessing a little incentive is all you needed. :p

I'm still watching that word count Glitch, but good steady going there buddy.

Yep. Getting there slowly. :)

Good work springs, perp and others who have posted.:)

Go you!

First draft of Galaxy done: 45460. Lots of notes for the next draft, new character emerged at the end - i had a picture on my wall who was supposed to be mc, but they weren't merging, and then this one just blasted into her, fab - and the prologue has to be sorted. But the bones are there! Way hay!

Only at 46846, mainly cos I've removed bits that are covered later more effectively. New start. Up to chapter nine and new material has been added. First four baby chapters are with the hex-men who are suffering the ropiest of starts, and once I get to the end of this draft, the other victim... Erm volunteers. -- the email will be coming.. :D (and you're all fab!)

Thanks springs. Doubt I would have gotten this far if I wasn't a member of Chrons :)

not been 'round this way for a while! so i thought i'd better celebrate the belated passing of this last milestone.

HKV - MC Part 2
Epic Fantasy sequel & finale
121000 and rising slower than the oceans...
all main characters gathered and about to start the final push into the North. after this, people die. heroically!

*chopper's patent happy dance*

After some weeks of writing being impossible - I'd stare at blank pages, or try writing something, only to delete it because it was truly awful - I sat down last night, and 680 words just flowed. Draft quality, but the character's voice is there.

Of course then the power cut took effect and my battery threatened to die. Ruddy electric.
Still, the writing has definitely cheered me up. :)

Yey, Aber. That sounds good.

Chs 1-8 of Dark Circles -- now 15,763, previously 18,205.

Woo! So though the opening is much longer than the previous version, I've removed most of the gruesome information dumping that appeared after the JJ edit.

(To be fair, I don't think he meant me to load in pages of clunky explanation, but that was how I dealt with the comments).

Impressed with the magnificent word counts here.

I wrote 3 000 words today bringing the Stuck Novella up to 7 200 words. I'm aiming at between 14 000 and 17 000 words altogether.

About 40 pages left to go of the 2nd draft. Finally broke 50 k and am on 51,476. I am a bit worried about length, but there are a lot of still very drafty scenes and a subplot not fully evolved yet. Plus, the d word...

Doughnuts?

My new thing: Wait for it... 8273 words! Dun dun duuuuuun! (That's including about 200 words worth of notes but, Glitch, cake please!)

Well done Mouse. I guess the prospect of cake got those words out of you :p

I, Singularity is now 65,036 words. New opening covers her first full week as a super hero, her first super hero battle, and how well or badly she's coping with the psychological aftermath (there were quite a few innocent bystanders killed by the villain, despite Our Hero's attempts to save them).

A couple more chapters, and I can slot in the tale that first appeared here (already included in the word count), where her boyfriend discovers her secret identity (heroes who change out of their costumes in invisible tree houses probably really shouldn't). :)

What? Cake?

The Shaded Heart - Just topped 8k.

Have opening scenes for each of the three main POV's. Still a few creases to iron out, but making steady progress.

At the end of the second draft. Still a lot to do, but I'm happy that the plot has come together. Currently at 54,000, I'm expecting it to come out around the 80k mark, which seems to be where I mostly end up. Back to the start, and the long, slower proper writing of it.

I, Singularity is now 65,600 words. First section pretty much done (except for the kiss-and-make-up between Our Hero and her boyfriend).

(Oh, and possibly a little raised tension between Our Hero and her boyfriend's mother.)

New thing aka Locke and Key aka Key and Locke aka Locke and Lode aka Locke's Key aka BLN (that's Big Lesbian Novel)* is now: 10,379. I've broken the first 10k, people. We're on a roll.

*will not actually be titled any of these things.

Please call it Big Lesbian Novel.

Along with the Big Gay Novel you could really have an interesting (and bestselling purely through name ;)) series going.

Heh heh, true! I may have to rename The Beautiful Man as the Big Straight Novel. Then I've got me a trilogy. :D
