SPOILERS: Theory on Jon

I am very certain the Reeds are gonna have a big role to play.. it has been hinted at soo many times how much trust he and Ned had and plus the "green dreams". The children of Howland Reed know something... and that something is why they are up at the wall.

I would not care to speculate on whether Jon and Dany get together because of the fact it's even harder to speculate on whether Jon would leave the wall. Most of the characters stay within character in this book with the exception of a few, and they don't stray far. Could the wall come down?

erika - a bit. I post mainly on the "Other authors" board... I don't really know enough about the books, and their chat section is really scary. But I browse;)

I haven't made my own mind up about the theory, and, to be honest, I can't find myself caring. Will be interesting to find out though. As it seems to be the main point of discussion, maybe Gurm will end the series with the question being ever so close to being answered, but now quite, and aggravate us all. Now, that would be good.:D
You know, I used to just go to the boards that dealt mainly with the series, but I have recently started checking out the "miscellaneous" and "other author" sections. The miscellaneous section can get a little risque.;)

If GRRM ends the series that way, it would be very aggravating and yet probably be quite briiliant.:D

LIke I said before, I think Howland is going to be quite an interesting character. Surely the next book will be out this year....

Indeed, Jaime and Cersei - but they were pretty much demonised for it (at least, in books 1-2). Having a "hero" heroically commit incest would be a real gamble - but I guess if they are only half-siblings then there's an argument for a legitimate relationship?

Well...they were demonised at the start, but I sort of began to understand both of them, through Jaime's POV as well as in Cersei's chat with Eddard...

Mind you...Dany and Jon aren't just half-siblings, she's also his AUNT...:D

It'll be interesting, in any case...

Does anyone think Benjen Stark might know? I keep thinking of the Other who is now with Bran...I just think he's going to be pivotal to the story, and I also keep associating nim with Stark for some reason...As though he was turned but didn't lose his conscious self in the turning, he doesn't strike me as a mindless zombie...He seems determined to show Bran something...

Either that, or he'll have read the various speculations on this point and decided 'Hell, no, I'm not going to be this predictable', and changed the rest of the plot...I think I'd pay him a little visit if that happened...:D
I agree, I don't think we've seen the end of Benjen Stark yet. But by "the Other who is now with Bran", do you mean Coldhands (is that the name? I forget)

And when you pay GRRM a visit, tell me, I want to come!! :D

Re: SPOILERS theory on jon

I think that's the name, not too sure either...it's been a while since I read them again, or I'd be quoting direct from the books all over the place :)

First part, agreed.

Second part... well... keep dreaming cutie;)

Don't say things like that!!!:p *covers ears and hums loudly and tunelessly*:D

As for further evidence that Jon isn't Ned's *******, Ned whilst in his cell at the end of aGoT thinks about how much he'd like to sit with Jon and tell him everything or something like that.

Not only that, when Lyanna is asking Ned to promise her, she had fear in her eyes and yet when he promised the fear was gone. Knowing how much Robert hated the Targaryens, if he had an inkling of Jon's Targaryen heritage... well, not even Ned could stop him in his rage. Not to mention, all of the loyalists using Jon?

I don't actually think that Rhaegar raped Lyanna and that the relationship was consensual because when Ned seems think of him rather favourably. We all know how touchy he is about honour. If Rheagar had violated his own beloved sister, he'd be more than little angry about it even if it was a while ago.

I'm not even sure Jon would give up being Lord Commander of the Night's Watch let alone, marry his aunt and forswear his oaths. He can still have have a dragon and support Dany, but marrying is a but much.

As for Coldhands, I don't think we'll be seeing much of him. After all, if we see too much of Coldhands, he'll lose his allure of being so mysterious. He probably does have something to teach Bran though.

Hi jnr turtle. You're thinking runs pretty much right along with mine.:) I don't really see Jaime and Brienne getting together...but, then again I didn't see several things when I first read these books( I know that's from your post in the favorite characters, but I thought I would add it over here...I'm feeling lazy tonight;)).:D

Go introduce yourself over in the Introduction forum...you're sure to get a warm welcome.:)

They may not marry, seeing that both of them had a love lost, but a relationship may not be out of the question

But if they don't marry and Dany becomes queen, who would support them if they were heirless?

Either way, I hope GRRM does this well (like he does everything else) because any way I see, it's a little awkward...

Even if they don't marry but just have a relationship I have a funny feeling that Dany's childbearing abilities will be mysteriously restored to her through their union...So there would definitely be an heir, I don't see an obstacle in the fact that the child would be illegitimate with three dragons to back up its claim...:D

As for your theory on Coldhands, I didn't mean we would be seeing much of him, but certainly more than we have so far, and I think he has a major role to play, even behind the scenes...

I don't think she ever lost her child-bearing abilities...I think Mirri Maz Dur just told her that, basically to be mean. I have no basis for that, just a feeling I get.:p

It can't be any more awkward than Jaime and Cersei.;)

I think it would be real interesting to see a dragon bring down that wall. Of course GRRM doesn't write his books based on what the tequila cat thinks would be interesting.

On that note, what do you think is going to happen with Joramun's horn (sp?), the one that was supposed to bring down the Wall? And do you actually think it's the real deal?

I believe it is the real deal, however, I think it would be more fun to read about a dragon doing the deed. LOL.:D
