Wrath of a Mad God- Spoilers May Be Included

I thought that but then I thought it must have been a different dragon.

Because wasn't Ryath the one who slept with Talwin when she changed into human form?

When did this happen???

Prepare for the rant of CONAN!

I must say with Wrath, the start was *yawn* middle was *yay* and end was *-_-*.

I was not surprised at all that Nakor had a piece of Banath in him, very obvious. I didnt really care that Nakor died, he was a good character, but I was getting tired of him. Thankfully Pug has gotten rid of the arrogance he had at the end of serpent war. Erik never married. Unforgivible mistake. Kaspar never meets Tomas? They fought side by side for god sake!

My biggest dissapointment in the book was lack of Tomas:mad:. He was prominent around the middle of the book, it looked like his own story line was happening, he called a meating of the greatest magicians and preists, then was later going to see the dreadmaster. Then he was never mentioned again:mad:. He wasnt even at Kelewan for gods sake! Its like he just disapeared from the midkemian universe and his story line with him!

I would have more to say but its already been said (ridiculous amounts of "lost elven races" = lolz).

I have some questions though, why the hell does everyone like Jimmy and Arutha so much?! (Im talking about jimmy in riftwar not serpent) They are the worst characters I have ever read about. Also I thought Exiles return was one of Feists best, why didnt anyone like it:confused:

More Tomas.

I liked it Conan. I thought Kasper was class, he's not you're perfect goody twoshoes character (like Talon for example), he has his faults and deals with them plus he's pretty handy in a tight situation.

Sorry to commit thread necomancy here... but I just finished Wrath of a Mad God this morning - I had been realtively underwhelmed by the Concalve and Darkwar series and waited for the paperback edition, then got distracted by other books... then had to re-read Nighthawks and Dark Realm before Mad God so I knew what the hell was going on.

I spotted most of the continuity errors that are so commoly mentioned online, here and in other places, other than those corrected in the PB version of course.. But I just could not get my head around one thing that I would love someone to explain to me...

There are two references to the Serpentwar being over for around 40 years, but Erik von Darkmoor is mentioned as being in his 90s? Also, how would 40 years allow James Jamison to have a son who had a son who was apparently in his late 20s at the youngest? Or was it 40 years between Shards and Talon? Then another 20 or so between Talon and Wrath?

This has really been bugging me! As a related note - does anyone have a good comprehensive timeline online? My google efforts had lackluster results.

With regards Nakor - I was sorry to see him go the way he did. Same with Varen really. It all seemed like a very rushed ending to the series.

Unlike most of you, I don't hate Magnus - he is a little two dimensional, but he is not awful. I actually find Caleb more wooden and boring - Martin Longbow Mark II. I also quite liked Jim Dasher - he was a nasty b*stard, a Jimmy clone yes, but the Jimmy of the Setpentwar, not the Riftwar. I actually thought he was the best "new" addition in the book and outshadowed the forgettable Tad and Zane (thank goodness for Jommy!).

The destruction of Kelewan was weak - as has been mentioned scary power inconsistencies - and a shard of the moon? Come on! Rushed and weak. The shifting of ideas for Bek and the Talnoy were bad as well - having re-read the earlier books directly before Wrath there is a clear inferrence that the Talnoy would be part of the invasion... not the salvation of the Dasati. I preferred their initial form.

The Quor are clearly, to me, something to do with the higher planes cosmology outlined in the series, and were a waste if pages in what could have been used to flesh out the rushed ending. A stand Alone book about the baby dreads and the Sun Elves would have made much more sense, and shown the conclave activities several years after the Kelewan events.

Well, thats my tuppence really. To be honest, the other errors faded into insignificance for me due to Erik's age - I hope I am just mistaken in my assumptions but this really ruined the book for me.
