Terry felt the blood drain from his face as the results came in from across Europe and doomed an entire continent to apocalyptic war. With a shaking hand he poured out the last of the single malt and raised a silent, ironic toast to the Eastern European voting blocs. He thought he could already hear the war machines approaching, tearing through the city, eager to avenge the terrible insult served upon them.
The electronic scoreboard fizzed and flickered, a bright indictment of human stupidity.
