Season Four Arc

I have a new interesting theory on the arc for season four. I mentioned in my original post that I thought it had something to do with the Medusa Cascade wiping planets from existence. However, based on the recent two-parted, I think this theory needs amended.

True - planet have gone missing. But more importantly, breeding planets are being created. The alien Supernanny was using Earth as a breeding planet for the Adipose, the Pyroviles were breeding in the volcanoes of Pompeii, the Ood were being bred for use as slavery across three star systems and the Sontarans were trying to turn the Earth into a Clone World.

If this theory holds, the return of Davros could mean that he has been using the Parallel Earth (where Rose was left behind) and turned it into a breeding ground for a new Dalek Empire. Rose has been desperately trying to communicate with the Doctor through the void.

i could just be very gullible, but that does make sense chap!

That makes two of us... though it might be coincidence! Wait to see if the giant wasps we've seen in the season-trailer are trying to breed.

I wonder if the Doctor is breeding to continue the theme in next week's "Doctor's Daughter" episode!

Hmm yeah, that "breeding" is part of the story arc seems likely now that all episodes have had elements of it.

But as the Doctors Daughter is fully grown I'd say he's all ready bred.. ;)

Maybe that's the link to breeding in the episode...

Given the Doctor's surprise at her existence, I would suggest that he has been breeding without consent! Who's been taking advantage of the Doctor?

Oh he wouldn't be the first traveler to discover he has a kid he didn't know about... and for all we know it might have been the result of a future reincarnations indiscretion. Or maybe the 10th doctor impregnates someone in his own future? On the other hand, he did comment that he had been a father once as well...

As for Time Lords being sterile and reproduced using artificial means... Isn't the information from the 8th doctors movie that he is half human considered canon, so maybe he wasn't as sterile as suspected due to his mixed heritage. (And thus, he forgot to use a rubber! :p )

But seriously, my first thought was that this might have been the result of a period of the doctor using the "become human" trick... maybe he did "go human" for a while, started a family, and the opened the clock. That would explain the "having been a father" comment as well, as he as the Doctor never was a father, but his human alter ego was... ? Just speculating here, looking forward to the episode!

OK, I've got a sort of theory going on although it's very flawed as it hasn't appeared in every episode... mine's along the lines of the Doctor (and maybe Donna) being revered as a God...

Obviously we sweep aside the Adipose episode...

Pompeii... they became House Gods

The Ood... the song of the Doctor will be passed on down the generations and every Ood will know of him and what he did

The Sontaran eps... I'm not too sure about, there was something in there but I can't bring it to mind right now

Then the Doctor's Daughter ep... again something there with him cracking open the Terraforma (sp?) effectively ending the otherwise seemingly neverending war and creating a whole new alliance and lovely looking planet therefore - theoretically - making him the creator...

Like I said, crackpot but thought I'd put it out there...

xx

I'm putting my twopence in by assuming that Jenny will somehow be involved in the kick-off of the bad guys in the season finale. She apparently has Time Lord-esque DNA, and we've already seen ("Dalek") what happens if a nominally dormant Dalek is touched by time traveller....

But is being of Time lord stock enough to trigger it? Or do you actually have to have time traveled? Both Rose and Micky did the trick because they were time travelers.

I'm assuming the mysterious red-nailed woman will turn up in an important role too.

I think Harriet Jones is out for revnge.

Angry for ruining her, Harriet is out to get the Doctor

She wondered why he didn't ruin Harry Saxon when he destroyed the Racnoss ship.

She stoyed away on the Vallient for the year that never was and saw the power of a time lord

She wants this power herself, and steals the Masters ring.

She hears the drumming and opens the Medusa cascade to summon the Children of Time.

That is what I think.

It may not be important, but the head honcho Sontaran mentioned that they were very peeved at having missed out on the greatest Time War ever fought. After all, they are the Time Warriors! The Daleks stole their Time technology!

Maybe they somehow rewind Time so that they can take part in it.

A different outcome? None of the last four years happened? Not very likely!

there are two more trailers forthe next episode going up on the bbc site today. the first is already there - a brief glimpse of some Bad Guys heavily kitted out.....

the next is being shown on bbc2 (i think) at 6.58pm.....

obligatory linkage: here

Listen there is no story arc as such this season. But something from each episode will be taken in to the final

Conversely, in last night's Confidential RTD explicitly said there were a number of themes in the series: not least "a lot of missing planets". Timeline-wise, it started with Partners in Crime (the Adiposian first family's original breeding planet was missing), also mentions in Fires of Pompeii (the "haven of Pyrovillia is gone... it was taken" and then in Midnight the references to "the lost moon of Poosh"... it concludes with this week's Turn Left, with alternate timeline previews of the Darkness consuming the stars. RTD also explicitly mentions the missing bees, the Medusa Cascade and the reappearance of both Rose and Martha.

PS. The Judoon are definitely in the trailer for ep 12, though there is also another gloved hand, which flicks a large lever... did it seem Sontaran?

Gah, Daleks again!
Ah yes, but more than that...

[Though I'm hoping they stay true to themselves and simply try to eliminate, destroy, annihilate, (er, what's the word I'm looking for...?) everything.]

I thought it started with eggs? ;)

[Never thought of the Daleks ending that debate before...]
