Season Four Arc

PS. The Judoon are definitely in the trailer for ep 12, though there is also another gloved hand, which flicks a large lever... did it seem Sontaran?

The large lever looked like part of the control panel on Davros's mobile transport wheelchair thingy (the bottom half of a Dalek). I was assuming the gloved hand was Davros.

Is it worth noting that the Wikipedia page for Davros has both an actor's name and image of the mobile genius...

And, following one of the references for the facts, admittedly to a Sun page, the photo confirms the gloved hand is indeed that of Davros.

The red Dalek!

This is a mad season finale from the sounds of it.

Sadly what I find most interesting at the moment is all the mentions of Donna being special. Rose saying they get funny readings from her and they have been there since the day she was born, and then the Doctor finally noticing/mentioning it at the end of episode 11.

The core part he mentions is alternate realities being created around her. I read somewhere else that people reckon she is a Time Lord/Mistress in hiding, considering the whole fob watch thing creates a reality around the human time lord?

I dunno. Can't wait to see what part she plays in the grand design.

I just love the fact this season finale has been planned since either day 1 or at least since the end of season 1. Should be an awesome story and I so hope it has something to do with the Time War as they have actually mentioned it a LOT this season.

Another theory I heard someone make was that the Doctor hadn't played his part in the time war yet, in his time line. That he will do that in his personal future.

The speculation!

Confidential last week specifically mentioned the Doctor's contribution to the Time War and that he was implicitly unhappy with what he had to do in it.

That sounds like the Star Trek: TNG episode Parallels when Worf experiences different realities which all converge into one. It is one of my favourites and it would be good if Doctor Who attempted something similar.

Hello,

I'm new here so I hope this is the right place to post this. I've enjoyed reading about theories and such but there's one thing me and my sister came up with.

This series has had a theme about hosting and cloning, any threat that the Dr and Donna have had to face appear to have to live inside a human body to exsist. There hasn't been any old enemies (until last night when the Daleks returned) prominent in this series and even the Sontarans used the ATMOS as a host for the poison to be released and they also cloned Martha.

It makes me wonder if Donna is indeed a host to something much bigger, what with the references to something being on her back. If you remember, at the end of The Runaway Bride, The Doctor wanted Donna to go with him but she refused, so why was it so important that she spent such a long time tracking him down? I know we think it was because her life seemed meaningless, but I have a feeling there is something else there. It feels like she's been taking him to all these places in time for a reason.

Donna also keeps refering to the word 'Temp' which means Time in Latin.

Anyway, these are our theories and if anyone else thinks this maybe a pattern then do say so! I'd be interested in what you all think.

I'd say that since Russell T Davies has shown that he does like the odd word puzzle and anagram, that is certainly a possiblity. I've also no doubt that Donna is not just a 'normal' human. There have been a number of references to her being very special.

And Welcome to Chronicles!

Both excellent points, and a thought occurs. Donna does spend a lot of time telling people she's nothing special and being told by everyone else that she's very important - "brilliant" in fact - something that put me in mind of Yana/The Master at the end of season 3. Not sure if anyone else remembers, but that's exactly how the Doctor describes Yana. And part of the process in making a Time Lord human is that they don't really know who they are - they think they're just like everyone else. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if Donna's grandpa has an old watch somewhere, with some very familiar markings on it...

Oh, and if Donna is a Time Lord herself, then I'm banking on her being the companion who is killed - and regenerates into River Song, the "most faithful companion."

Welcome to the Chrons, by the way!:)

Oh, I like it, I like it, Till. Even if it's wrong, it should be right, a most plausible scenario...

And, on past form, almost certainly wrong...:D:p

Doesn't explain what might happen to DT, either, though it would suggest that he'll be sticking around...;)

But if Donna is actually, say, Romanadvoratrelundar, that's a completely new can of worms...

Tillane what a brilliant idea, my wife seems to think she has some connection to the timelords moreso the master but adding to what you suggested just as a comment Donna's grandpa was also in the film version of the daleks with peter cushing (I think).

"Donna" does mean "Lady"...so she'd be the Noble Lady...

ra·ni also ra·nee (rän)
n. pl. ra·nis also ra·nees
1. The wife of a rajah.
2. A princess or queen in India or the East Indies.

Liking it, Py! Donna Noble, temp = Noble Time Lady!

I think we have a winner...:D

The writers are definitely playing with us, the audience, this season. Lots of little clues, some which might be valid anagrams, possible Latin influences, and so on. Even explicit references to spoilers. The final episode is sure to be heavily watched...
