Season Four Arc

Both excellent points, and a thought occurs. Donna does spend a lot of time telling people she's nothing special and being told by everyone else that she's very important - "brilliant" in fact - something that put me in mind of Yana/The Master at the end of season 3. Not sure if anyone else remembers, but that's exactly how the Doctor describes Yana. And part of the process in making a Time Lord human is that they don't really know who they are - they think they're just like everyone else. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if Donna's grandpa has an old watch somewhere, with some very familiar markings on it...

Oh, and if Donna is a Time Lord herself, then I'm banking on her being the companion who is killed - and regenerates into River Song, the "most faithful companion."

Welcome to the Chrons, by the way!:)

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Donna is brilliant! She seems to be able to work things out a little quicker than the Dr at times, and has a way of making him do things that he wouldn't normally do, like when he saved the family in The Fires Of Pompeii which is something he wouldn't have done as everyone there was supposed to die.

Something is making her mess with time and events. But what?

It would be awesome if Donna was a Time Lord. But wouldn't that make her something old rather than something new?

I like the speculation here, but the time lady theory is good but just one little thing, what is sher isnt a timelady at all. What is she's actually a TARDIS. The death of the most faithful companion, who has been with the doctor from the start, yup the old girl herself. I am given to believe that there was a novel in which a red headed woman was a TARDIS, maybe she's a spare?

Wasn't Rose the embodiment of the TARDIS at one point?

Similar things have been mentioned in the latest episode thread (to Ice's comments), and it is something that I think is a very great possibility. I really like the idea that the faithful companion could be the TARDIS, and Ice has built on it here, the loss of one (possibly becoming human-ish in the form of Professor Song?) and the loss of a companion to replace it. I vaguely remember the red-haired companion bit too.

My friend just spotted something else, though i reckon she is reading WAY too much into it. She is a big fan of the show, has been for ages. I have only seen the latest ones.

Russel T. Davis could be an abbreviation, David Tennant Regenerates.

Now i am dizzy!

I love the idea of Nobel Time Lady, makes sense. There are so many meanings and hints, though some i bet will be unintentional.

Oh I bet there are a lot of things in there that are waaaaay of the bat than we expect. But it is fun to speculate and theorise! That's what makes it all such good fun.

If my 'host' theory is right, I still think Donna is definatley a host to something, and it may not be particularly pleasant either......Tnrough no fault of her own of course.

Tillane is a genius. Even if he (er, assuming you're a bloke, apologies if not:p) is wrong it's a brilliant idea.

Got to say I considered the season 3 finale somewhere between pants and fungally infested pants. So far this ending is excellent, I can't remember the last time I found a Dr Who story this enthralling (well, actually it was Genesis of the Daleks a few years ago).

I wonder if RTD and Moffat have had a long talk about the implications because, as I said on the Stolen Earth thread, interfering in the 'timelocked' Time War could release the Timelords, including Romana and others, broadening the possibilities.

Wow. I've been called a few things in my time, but that's the first time I've been called that.

*Till's ego expands to fill the thread...*:D

However...having read an awful lot of speculation both here and on other forums, I have to admit that I've leaning (listing, even) toward the theory that the TARDIS is somehow going to be destroyed/disabled and that Donna will somehow be the key to restoring it. That certainly seems to be the consensus view, and I can't fault it - more's the pity.

But my story would be better. Definitely.:p:D

Oh, and yes, I'm a bloke. In this regeneration, at least.

Just to add a few more coals to the fire, on the early morning radio - where there is normally very little talk about Doctor Who they are suddenly picking up on news stories about who will be the new Doctor. Does this mean that there is a change coming or these news sources are just speculating like we are?

Names suggested were Robert Carlisle, Jason Strathem(????) and Alan Davies

Did you know we've played this same game every time it happens?

I think that its one of the Nations favourite pastimes, up with denigrating British Tennis players and complaining about the weather.

Alan Davies was mentioned before, several times, along with Bill Nighy and Eddie Izzard, and strange people who want to bring back Tom Baker.

And she (Donna) was infused with Huon particles in "The Runaway Bride", which can be found in the heart of the TARDIS. I'm beginning to like this theory too. :D

I'm going to agree too, I think the end is going to have something to do with the TARDIS and Donna and a radical change in both, destruction, death and metamorphosis, and possibly a connection to Professor Song as well. (I'm bound to be wrong, but I just have a feeling... is it Saturday yet?)

Another theory is that the TARDIS will be diisabled, thus setting up a few specials (as there wont be a new season till 2010 they are I understand only filming three specials) on earth bringing in Torchwood and perhaps UNIT forward for a bit.

Maybe Donna willl indeed be key to helping the old girl get her steam back. Beware of Red Herrings though I will be pleasantly surprised if Donna is a Time Lady, but I think it unlikley:cool:

Ah a variation on the start of the Pertwee era.
