Melisandre really really makes my skin crawl. I don't want her near Jon, but that's just the way I heard it. Anyway, that may not have been the Horn of Winter, but apparently it was used to call the Giants to tear the Wall down.

Ok, I remember reading about that over on the ezboard forum...but I don't recall whether the horn was actually blown. My memory can be crap sometimes.

I, personally, have no idea what's going to happen, but running with the Jon-and-Dany from the south theory, maybe Bran will lead an army of wargs/animals from the north to crush the Others between them? Though I don't really like the sound of that, now I've written it down....

Hmm. It's something to think on. Building on that, I was thinking that, should Dany's dragons get unruly, Bran may prove instrumental in controlling/handling them.

Definitely was not the Horn of Winter. The big crazy fancy horn Mance shows Jon is a well constructed fake, he's bluffing, Ygritte confessed to it in the caves. (Don't be confused by the one event happening before the other.)
I believe the Horn of Winter is actually the broken horn found by Ghost amongst the buried cache of obsidian arrowheads and daggers wrapped in the black cloak near the Fist of the First Men. I also speculate that that cache was left behind by Benjen Stark, but that's going way far out there.

Hmmm, just read that cave bit again, and I don't recall Ygritte saying anything about a fake horn. However, I do agree that the horn may be the one that Ghost found- that was my original thought when I first read that part.

I rather enjoy Melisandre. Given the fact that Beric has a R'lhor guy with him and then there is Jaqen and now Melisandre... something important is gonna happen here.

ARYA ARYA ARYA.... read more carefully the chapters involving Jaqen. You even have his saying as a signature. It is rather obvious he is Rh'llor. It doesn't rub me wrong anymore than the godswoods or the seven. It just is. It is like the other two... they can be portrayed as bad (Melisandre) or good (Beric).

Wait wait wait... Valar Morghulis? Is that the saying you speak of? That's High Valyrian. And you're saying Jaqen H'gar is Rh'llor? That's a new one to me. I simply thought he was a magician. Otherwise, why would a God allow himself to be kept in chains, and why would he fear the fire in the barn when Arya freed him?

Oh you got me wrong. I didn't mean he IS Rh'llor. I mean he is into it like Mellisandre and Thoros. Sorry if my post lead you to read me otherwise.

Phew, I was going to have to disagree with you wholeheartedly right there, and my doughnut intake today has upped my sugar levels too dangerously for that sort of thing. I'll have to reinvestigate these things. And still, Rh'llor me no likey.

Me no likey... lol. I love that. From now on I am gonna have to incorporate "me no likey" in response to your posts:D . Rh'lllor may not be good and may not be bad... but it is definitely old like the Godswoods and the children. This is interesting. Some of the more interesting chapters involved SPOILERS: Beric and Thoros for me... though I really don't like Melisandre she definitely keeps me reading on in anticipation.

I guess there are two main things that lead me to discredit Rh'llor as a good God- no wait, make that three.

1)Freaky shadow birthing scene. Had trouble turning off the light that night.
2)"Giving people to the fire." Too reminiscent of the Spanish Inquisition and the Salem witch trials.
3) Mirri Maz Durr, or however the heck you spell that. That woman had issues.

I wouldn't say any gods are good. I am not saying Rh'llor is "good". I am not saying Rh'llor is bad. I once again refer to Thoros.

Who can say which gods are good or bad? Not I. But I get uncomfortable when their minions start condemning all who worship other gods.

:p No worries, not arguing.

No... I completely agree... I hope I wasn't sounding argumentative. You are one of the more fun people to talk to about the series! I was only trying to point out a different perspective to Rh'llor. However, I do see your point. It hasn't been rather apparent that any "old gods" worshippers being quite as persistant about their "god(s)" as the others. I give you credit to your argument on this point and agree with it wholeheartedly. I am a "godswoods" man myself; I just meant that Rh'llor, to me, doesn't represent good or bad, to say, and that it is a very interesting part of the plot.

No; I don't think so. However, I am not good at predicting things. I don't like her and therefore I prefer to think of the series ending without her.

That would be interesting so long as it had a good chapter. In other words, I don't want to just "hear about it", I want to read about it.
