SPOILERS: A New Theory on Jon

Okay here's a crazy theory: What is Lyanna was asexual, like a snail, and therefore was able to produce her own young without any help from a man?

Just kidding... sorry, feeling a little weird today.

What if Lyanna never had a kid... what if she got Ned pregnant?

HAHAHA, that would make for a very good reason for him to be hush-hush about the whole thing.

Also, Hodor, I'm not sure how long it has been since you've revisited the states, but... BEWARE. Mullets are coming back. I know, it's sad, but the advent of the retro-80's fashion, complete with legwarmers, dragged some of the bad hair with it.

Oh jeez! I am glad my daughter will be born in France then... I was in Phoenix for christmas but never noticed anything stranger than the usual... hmmm did I just say that?

I laughed at my cubicle so loud that my neighbor asked me if I was okay. Hilarious.

I am always happy to be of service.... I must adjust the lime on my head so please excuse me.

:)

Okay so I'm wondering about some more obscure characters that have sort of left the scene, but I'm beginning to think that they'll have bigger parts to play.

The first one that comes to mind is Gendry. I think he'll pop up later on for sure, and maybe find out that he's Robert's *******. Also, did anyone else notice that he may have feelings for Arya that are beyond just those of a good friend?

I certainly did notice that, Arya. But I feel like Gendry might be an abandoned storyline though. He was important when Ned was still trying to hold the kingdom together, but things have progressed so far past that now. The best we can hope is that Gendry will rule house baratheon after Stannis is killed by the Others.

I think it unlikely that Gendry would rule House Baratheon, unless that rule will be granted by Dany, as Edric Storm and one other girl are Robert's only officially recognized and confirmed bastards.

I think Gendry will turn up later in the story- maybe not in the next book, but later. I hope so, I always liked him.:p

Who's older - Gendry or Edric Storm?
Edric has a higher parentage than Gendry and is Robert's most high profile ******* so I guess he will end up with Storm's End should Stannis die.

I guess Gendry may just keep touring with Beric & Thoros for now. He may wind up working in Winterfell as a blacksmith (I hear there are several vacant positions! )

Gendry has five or six years on Edric, I believe. I agree that he'll probably continue working for Beric and Thoros- after all, he pledged himself, so it will probably be a lasting commitment until Dondarrion finally kicks the bucket for good.

That's right, I had forgotten that he was with those crazy dudes from the forest. That story thread is the most enigmatic for me. I can't figure out for the life of me where Beric, Thoros and Co. will fit in. And now they have Catelyn Stark too?

Too bad she can't talk... or is it, lol.

Well, seeing as I never warmed up to her to begin with, this new incarnation might be just the thing.

She won't be able to complain anymore, lol.

Haha, yeah, upon re-reading ASoS, I'm really starting to pick up more on how dreary a person she is. I mean, I can't exactly blamer her. If my husband and children had been killed and my whole world had gone to sh-- I'd be pretty down too. I'm actually surprised she doesn't drink more.

Don't think Gendry has quite as much as five years on Edric: I think it's more like two or three. But yeah, he definitely has some attraction to Arya going on, which is ironic. Arya looks like Lyanna and Gendry looks like Robert.

Given that Edric was last seen heading in the direction of the Free Cities, I think Dany may soon have another Baratheon heir to hand if she needs one. ;)

Though Varys did save Gendry for some purpose...

There are a whole load of co-incidences in the stories so far, could Gendry finding his way to Arya not just be another one? It would be nice if more came of it but it doesn't necessarily have too; and as GRRM never does what you actually want him too I think it unlikley Gendry will rise far just because of birth.

I didn't even make the whole Lyanna-Robert connection with Gendry and Arya. That's interesting.

Somehow I really doubt that Gendry will end up heading for the Free Cities, but I think Arya will probably run into him when she returns.
