Who's death? (SUPER MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGH AFFC)

I would enjoy the demise of Cersei, Roose and Walder, although the last two would help against the Others.
Without starting an entirely new thread... Which character's death would give you the most pleasure, relief, or sense of justice being done? And whose death would come as no surprise at all?

And I'm not trying to be morbid here, nor a death cultist. I'm not trying to make light of life... I just want to discuss the future of the story.

Cersei probably tops most of our lists. We may hope for her demise. Our senses of justice may demand it. And the storyline may scream for her ending. But Cersei's a survivor... don't count her out yet.

Stannis and Mel cannot go quickly enough for me. They've earned it.

I don't think Asha is long for this earth. Euron will have her head soon.

Doran should die soon I'd think... of natural causes.

I'd like to see someone torture Ramsay slowly.

I don't think Cersei's long for his world, but I'm not sure if that means that Marg is going to go with her.

The little punk Theon, even given what we think he's been through, would be my number one. And when he goes to hell I hope a really pissed off Craster is his guide.

I actually kind of like Stannis, and as far as Mel, I'm not sure we should be judging her intentions by the black birth. She has methods to an end, and we can judge her methods, but we're not really sure of her ends.

Eddard's death was actually the only one I saw coming. It seemed like the book was about the children coming into their own once they got their wolves, but they can't do that with a protective father hovering about.

The Red Wedding definitely was THE shocker. Loras too actually, even though he's not really dead, but he may as well be if he can't fight. I felt bad for Ygritte too.

Walder Frey needs to bite it. Let justice be done! I really hope Davos stays alive. But it makes sense if there's now a Melisandre POV to pick up Stannis' story.

R.A. Salvatore! Man those characters never stayed dead! I loved Drizzt, but after 30 books you realized no one was in real danger. Although I did like the idea of Lloth looking out for him. Who'd have thought?

Ned and Robbs death surprised me, with Robb it was like....:O What?! But he's the guy that's going to **** all thes wrong-doers up xD

I wouldent mind seeing the black death infecting all those Walders :p Cersei can stay around for all I care, her pathetic views of how clever she is and her messing everyghing up is entertaining.

Shack, your take on Cersei is interesting. I used to hate Catelyn... and I kinda still do. But after AFFC, I realized how much I missed her POV's. I think I'd miss Cersei also.

I love having nasty villians to hate. Nurse Ratched, Sgt. Barnes, Norman Bates, the Sherriff of Nottingham (both Basil Rathbone's and Alan Rickman's), the Wicked Witch of the West, and Darth Vader are probably my favorite villians on film. The fouler the villain, the more courageous the hero. I'm not saying Cersei is a genius, but she's definitely got flavor.

Is it wrong if I wanted the Sherif of Nottingham to hang that dirty bandit by a Noose? :p Haha no I liked Robin Hood really but William Wallace is a whole 'nother story :D

The Red Wedding made me so angry I stopped reading for at least a week. At that point, if I could've run into Roose Bolton or Walder Frey in some magical parallel universe, it wouldve gotten ugly.

I cheered when Viserys was killed.

Joffrey getting his made me do a Nelson from the Simpsons "Hah hah!" I'm ashamed to say it, but I will do the same if that sickly, demented kid from the Eyrie gets his too.

i think ygritte will return ala the red women in some sort of power struggle seems everyone with red hair can be brought back by the red priests

Beric and Catelyn both had red hair and both were brought back by the power of R'hllor... doh! I'd never realized that before... And you're saying (according to the Jon preview chapter for ADWD) that Mel will start channeling Ygritte... hmmm. Very interesting, thanks whiskey.

By the way, I always thought that whiskey (with an e) was the Scottish and American spelling while whisky (without the e) was the Irish and Canadian spelling. You're from Canada, but you use the e. You're a rebel... I can tell.

i live so close to the american border news/language is often mixed

i havent read the jon preview for ADWD.. just thought mel is evil every read i hate her more, it weird no other red priest has a shadow spawn of a person they are close too/controlling.

i am interested to hear the one word to spare brienne wondered for years

and what is dr frankenstien buildng for cercei

cant wait i got my preorder with a rebel yell

Gosh Whiskey, good eye. Who is left with red hair?!

Yah, Ramsay has got to go, with a little extra. Little Robert Arryn, is pretty nasty. Mel is creepy. Who else is left on Arya's list?

Can't see Theon, Cersei, Catelyn or Stannis making it to the end.

After making Littlefinger the archvillain, I could see Arya taking him out, and saving Sansa.

I'm so afraid GRRM is going to make us like Walder, Roose, Euron, Mel and Stannis by making them heroes against the Others.

I don't want him to kill off Asha.

Best other villains to add. How about Benjamin Linus (its a pleasure when he gets punched)? Annie Wilkes from Misery. Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter. HAL. And, good grief, The Joker.

Know who else deserves a mention? Prince Baelor from The Hedge Knight.

Eulalia, Don't get me going on Lost. I used to hate Benjamin Linus more than anything. Ooooh, I get steamed just typing his name... he is right up there with Nurse Ratched on the all time hate list... but he's still ranked below John Locke. OOOOOHHHH!!! I HATE JOHN LOCKE!!! If Ben Linus is the Littlefinger of Lost, then Locke is the Joffrey... a petulant, ungrateful, demanding, condescending, arrogant, obtuse, irrational, abusive, and deluded megalomaniac.

And you Boaz, are the Stannis of the Chron, always trying to make things go exactly the way you would like them, always demanding justice at any price.

Just kidding :p

Possible responses...

1. I am the rightful ruler of these forums, but these posters do not love me!

2. Oh, no. You're on to me...

3. LOL!

if jon is the prince that was promised who do you think he will sheath lightbringer in to set it a blaze? or maybe take up stannis's sword and it will just set fire instead of glow

gotta say i could happily see the entirity of the Iron Islands obliterated from the story entirely. Theirs is a loathsome people, not worthy of love/hate reading - but of pure revulsion. Cold, brutal, pirates. bored and disinterested, moving on. they joined the story too late in the piece, and though i knew the type of person Theon was, he became a two-bit villiain, when i had actually rather liked him.

I see Cersei surviving against all odds. Alas sweet Margeary is likely to bite it instead.

While i rather enjoy Melisandre's character so far - her "get the job done no matter the method" is quite confrontingat times and shocking to poor Davos when he witnesses the shadow birth, Stannis sits as one of the unholy trinity of characters i hate with a religious fervour. His death would please me far more than even Joffrey's did.

I remember feeling outraged when Lady was killed.

me too Vizion, me too. my opinion of Sansa - up until then quite low, changed immediately here. It was her first lesson on the way of the world. She hadn't learned yet enough to change her ways (ways instilled in her my a mother desperate to mould a perfect daughter to marry off to a high born lord), but it was the first realisation that the world was not a nice place.
