Merlin: BBC 1 - Saturday Nights

Lyanna: Yes it seems a little unlikely given previous events. Especially the doing in of her father. When did a king ever marry a blacksmith.

I can only assume there's going to be some shenanigans to get those plots lines in order. Then again I'm hoping it will all improve when Sean Connery and Richard Gear finally make their appearance.

TEIN, he's not going marry the Blacksmith but his daughter. I quite cannot see Arthur in a gay marriage, with a husband in the box that he has dug out from the backyard of the Camelot. Although, that could be quite a dramatic twist in the play.

I do like the show, but there are some flaws. Don't like Guinevere at all, and Merlin's not as good as he should be.

I hope Uther hangs around for a while.

As an Immortal and a Navy Pilot???

I was hoping that Uther got killed last week. I was most disappointed when Morgan saved him. They are really dragging this out. And the weekly appearance of the next evil Sorcerer is getting a little tedious.

Well it's her anvil now so the way I see it is next week he goes into the smithy, sees her sweating over a hot bellows and sweeps her of her feet. Uther takes exception to the match and Author runs him through with a hot forging tong.

As an Immortal and a Navy Pilot???

Well it's no more ridiculous than what we've seen so far Dave.

Sigh, I don't know what to say, but I do know that the special effects in this series has been absolutely fantastic. Merlin is back next year, with hopefully less then one sorcerer per three episodes.

spoiler...
So they don't kill off Uther when they had the chance, but they do kill off the evil villainess.
...It baffles me!

And I can't see how...spoiler
Morgan, poor wretched seer with the bad dreams, turns into Morgana, replacement evil villainess,
...well not very easily.

I didn't see the first 15 mins or so. But I disliked what I did see.

Well now i've soon it all the way through i think it was good, Merlin has seen/felt just what sort of power he dose have, the seed for Arthur and Gwen was laid down. it could also be that the reason Morgana changes is 1) driven mad by her visions. or 2) someone manipulating her, maybe convincing her she is evil. or even that Arthur/Merlin are doing wrong and need stopping.

Well seen it start to end - and honestly I felt that the ending was little - weaker than some episodes had been. I think its because I never saw the big evil woman as being that big or evil - plus her death at the hands of Merlin felt cheated since I just don't think we have seen Merlin working at higher magics enough. I know part of him is a natual affinity for magic which is something that is very hard to convey through film, but it just seemed like he jumped a huge gap in orders of power.
Overall it had strong episodes and weaker ones - possibly a few too many weaker episodes to make it a very strong 1st series, but enough to make me want to see what happens next - the characters have advanced and changed as we have been let into some parts (though of course not all) of the past and there is potential ( in the dragon) for a new foe or challenge for Merlin - enough to make we want to see more

Do you know when ?

I was busy with the new job, plus the driving classes. I finally got my driving licence. I bought the car, too, but for the moment I have no enough courage to use it. Well, I tried it last week and end with the front line in the snow. I think I'll wait for the spring season.
