They say the release date is set to be July 12th!!!

Don't know if this is confirmed or not, but according to the site, it's an exclusive. I'm scared to get my hopes up until the man himself (or his publisher) confirms it.

I feel happy but won't celebrate until he actually calls the book finished. I'm usually the "glass is half full" guy, buy I'm making an exception in this case. I want to hear a fat ladt with a Viking helm singing at the top of her lungs. I want GRRM to declare it finished.

The glass is still half full, but I have to account for evaporation.

I'm not ambivalent anymore, but I remain cautiously pessimistic, akin to The Imp's comments above, ready to slip into giddy optimism when GRRM says it is actually done. I'll actually believe it when it really is done, dispelling the nagging doubts in my head when the book is actually in my hands.

But, this is a good day. A Very Good Day. That publication date thread can now be unlocked, I suppose?

I see that the US and UK publication dates are the same, which means that I won't be able to tease Boaz about the contents of the book.

I don't blame folks for being a little cautious, given GRRM's history, but we've never had an actual publishing date before, have we? Personally, I'm taking it as a definite until I hear otherwise. We reckoned there was only a chapter or two to be finished anyway.

Got my first child due on the 5th of July (no idea what sex) so July's going to be an amazing month, fingers and toes crossed!
