Well, I've finished the Skinner... as said, some very interesting things in there, and some very enjoyable stories recounted in a brief, but often very entertaining and absorbing, fashion.
And have now begun a re-read of Michael Moorcock's The Golden Barge....
@Nikkita Love the D20 reference When i can't decide something i often turn to my dice for guidence ! lol That said they still get actual use every few weeks or so.
Just started on the first few chapters of "Crime and Punishment" and "Atlas Shrugged".
So far, I'm rather neutral on "Crime and Punishment" but "Atlas Shrugged" is beginning to feel like punishment for me. Not sure if I'll push on and finish it.
Im reading One of us is Wrong by Donald.E Westlake.
Its the first book of four in his Sam Holt series. From the late 80s. Hardboiled, fun, quirky. Its like Elmore Leonard Get Shorty,Be Cool since even though its a mystery plot Westlake writes alot about his experience in hollywood as film,tv script writer.
Sam Holt the main character is an actor that got big, rich as the hero in crime show but is too known as the character Packard in the show that he cant be seen as playing someone else.
I ended up deciding to give Jem a whirl. So far it's too early to say what I think of it and I have only read one short story by Frederik Pohl before (The Tunnel Under the World), but if that is anything to go by, then this one will be good.
It has gotten my attention and curiousity within the first chaper, though.
