re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Mag:

You may think I was offended by your story. I was not. It brought up an interesting ethical question that I enjoyed thinking about. I have not formulated a short list yet, but yours has an excellent chance of being on it.

Thank you very much for saying so - I found it enjoyable reading your discussion with Judge too. :)

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

For once I am anxious for the "Stories we didn't post" time to come around. Her Honor gave me an idea after I'd posted mine, and now wish like fire I could have made the switch.
Oooh. Any chance of your being able to save it for another month? Then if you win I can get half the credit!!

A wise Parson never takes much credit for him/herself, but tries very hard to see that any who participated are much honored.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Q: What does a parson do with a story he didn't want to submit?

A: Pulp it.

*cough*

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Technically, the person who set the theme should get credit too for inspiring the idea in the first place, right? Right? So TJ gets credit for my mouse. And I get credit for whoever wins this month! Yay! :p :D

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Well, actually, it's best for one to get credit based solely on their own two legs. :D

I'm not claiming credit for this or that, even if I will win a round. :)

As I said earlier you are one fiendishly clever little mouse

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Ah, Nixie, you're too kind! :D

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

As the person who sets up the poll and thus facilitates the very possibility of a winner, I think I should get at least a little credit, no?

Many thanks for all the mentions! I think this may be a record month for me so far. If only every month I could have no ideas until the last minute, then pump out a story under duress across a busy afternoon at work...

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I'll be able to cope with the growing list of "I'd liked to thank"s, as long as no-one starts with the waterworks....

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Isn't the latest thing to point to a much, much older (and not at all good looking) man and say "See that man there? He's a movie star and I get to sleep with him every night"?

No wonder they burst into tears...

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

"Those aren't wrinkles, my darling, they're love channels taking your tears to my heart...."

*cough*

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Now honestly, Ursa. If I ever saw acting like that I'd hunt the producer down, drag him into the street, and shoot him.

That's what should have been done with everyone involved with Cloverfield.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

The last time I watched an awards ceremony of any sort on TV, there were a lot of people thanking their Lord and Savior, instead of singling out their elderly and unattractive spouses.

If such people are to be believed, Jesus seems to take an inordinate interest in movie stars, recording artists, and sporting events.* It is possible, however, that he is not as interested in these things outside of America. It must be hard for him to keep up with everything.

Culhwch, count me among those who were impressed by your story. Although I've liked some of your other stories too, so that's not particularly surprising.

*It has always seemed strange to me that people would credit their success in these endeavors to Jesus. Their spiritual redemption, yes. Their ability to overcome alcoholism, drug addiction, or hardship, yes. Their ability to hit home runs or win an Oscar, no. It seems ... irreligious.

You'll have to forgive me because it's Friday (here) and it's a been a long week - have I lost track of the date, or are we closing for entries in forty-five minutes?

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I'm not sure, Cul. It's the 23rd here, it would be the 24th for you, you'd have to ask TE about it. But I think we're about ready to close soon.

Yes, it's about 38 minutes now.

I've been lurking around the computer for the last couple of hours, rather than allow myself to be distracted by something else when it comes time to lock that thread.

Alright, then, about another half hour then we sit back and watch the fists fly, the tables and chairs be crushed upon one another, last one standing-

Oh, wait, this isn't the Arena, is it? :D
