Discussing the Writing Challenges -- November and December 2010

Great theme HB - I'm sure there are going to be some great stories with this one.

As for the genre - this site is primarily SF & F, so my leanings would be towards that, (although my stories haven't always been ), but then again, it might be interesting to see what the challenge of writing a 75 word story, on a tight theme, in a completely different genre would generate . . .

Congratulations, HB, and what an interesting theme for this month. Looking forward to seeing the different interpretations.:)

Congrats again to HB and Parson. Going to have to think about November's for a looooonnng time.

Congrats to Parson on being joint-winner, and also for being the first winner/finalist to be (as far as I know) strictly an "amateur" -- ie not someone spending large parts of their lives writing fiction intended for publication.

I do not know about the others, but that's certainly true about me. I've never submitted for publication a work of fiction. I had one poem paid for, but not published (sigh!) and submitted a short true story which was never recognized. That's it.

But on the other hand, story telling is a significant skill for someone who takes preaching and Jesus' parables seriously.

Karn, That's a great story. I laughed out loud. Actually!!:D:D

Interesting theme, HB, and good story, Karn.

Today is my Chroniversary, and I am about to leave for the hospital.

With one thing and another, I doubt I'll be getting in a story early this month.

Happy** Chroniversary, Teresa. I hope all goes well at the hospital and after.

I too laughed at Karn's punchline.

(And Sandra may be correct in her belief that this was the sole way to find the what she was seeking.:))

** - If that's the appropriate word in the circumstances.

Teresa,

I'll pray that all goes well.

Thanks for all that you do here.

I love it, Karn! You're going to pull a Harebrain this month!

I'm very much afraid that the answer that girl is going to get is "Yes!", however. And he goes back from whence he came.

Perhaps they were just baallet shoes....

Nice one, Karn.

Will I ever get past day 1 before posting a story? I doubt it!

Well done to Harebrain , a great story and it looks like there's some prett stiff competition already this month.

A great theme and I'm sure we'll see some jolly intersting stories.

good luck everyone!

Here's to hoping everything goes right for you, TE. I sincerely wish that you could have my doctor's help with this. Having a plate installed for any amount of time is no picnic, and I hope yours is removable. Mine isn't, and it sucks.

And thanks for the mentions already, everyone. I hoped I could take the humor angle this month.
