re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- July & August

I actually thought that was a real story (I'm a confused fish in a barrel today :D). Strangely though, it put me in mind of a story called Melmoth the Wanderer (now I remember the name!), which I think is based in the Tuscany area and either involved an immortal man or a soul that lived immortally through different people.

One thing's for sure, I certainly won't be voting for anyone who's seen fit to humiliate me today! :p

And yeah, that goes for you too, Mouse!

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- July & August

If someone wrote a book about the Mage, would it be lucrative?

(And I expect that some meanings are so well-hidden that no-one (and No One) is even looking for them.)

And no one found it.;)

Hey! I didn't humiliate you.

You were stupid all on your own. :p;)

Heh. Sorry. I think people have read my story too much and are now sick of it!

Noooooo.......

My last hope gone...

*goes off to suffocate herself in the Caul of Agme*

*or possibly to submit to the deadly embrace of the Cage of Maul*

Actually, I've a pretty good mind to write Mage of Luca** and defy Google.

** I imagine it will bring in filthy lucre

You know what, I got 'Mage of Luca' then forgot that I knew what you were talking about, now I've just remembered what you did there.

D'oh. I have a goldfish brain.

Fair enough. Even I'm not stupid enough to argue with that.:D

As it stands though, I've had my shortlist for a while and am now seriously considering the flip of a coin. Would that be a bad way of deciding a winner?

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- July & August

I just prised the answer out of No One!

Although I realised a moment before that what ya'll were doing with the Mage of Luca thing. But I would never have got the other thing (what the hidden thing is).

Er...yeah. If you get me, like.

Yes!! I've lost on that before.

*shakes fist at HareBrain*

Ursa, that's why all my stories have been about fish. I've hidden fish messages in each one.

Ladies. Gentleman. I bid you good day.

And no, I haven't worked an anagram into this message. Or have I?

No, that's an excellent way to decide... It means that the entries are so evenly balanced that you can't separate them, and will leave it to chance's Cruel/Kind fate.:)

A Parson would not slap on the wrist. But he does shake his head sadly and pray for enlightenment. "O Lord, when will the Mouse ever learn that she is wonderfully capable and a brilliant author and person beside? Please bless her with adequate self confidence. Amen."

He now expects to see Mouse with growing confidence in herself. :)

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- July & August

Wait, wait, wait, you two! I was insulting my memory, not my intelligence! I shall remain slap free! :D

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- July & August

High intelligence allows a magic-user to remember more spells in AD&D*, so I think that proves it.

*or at least it did back when it was a proper game and miniatures were only 25mm and had metal bases dammit.

Correct. No slapped wrist for this.

* Slaps fin. * ;):)

(I'd have added "gently", but if adverbs are frowned upon, they must be more so when discussing 75-word stories.)
