Bone Man and Perpetual Man, thanks for saying such nice things about my simple story. :)

Great entry, TDZ. You got an awful lot out of 75 words there.

Parson, I also thought yours was very well done.

Dammee, but the entries are more than just good this month!! Every time another one is posted, I sit back in admiration.

I think we should have 3 votes this month as there's Valentine's Day in it,* and there's only 28 days, which means we'll have to hurry to vote.

All those in favour?

*And of course March has St Patrick's, April has.... well... April Fool's day, May has Mayday and so on...

eeYowzA! No way do I want single anyone out anyone on that page.... but Reiver and Teresa by an eyelash at this juncture.
This is the kind of stuff that makes winning redundant. Quite an amazing little run of stories there, can't say enough about it. Them? All of them, best month ever.

Was going to say something about 2-3 votes and I see Boneman and I have simultaneously posted again. It's almost like... there could be a laugh and cry category for voting on! Funny and ...serious... votes.
Well, it's late,..>>and, ,,ZzZzZ

Seconded, especially April, not only does it have April Fool's Day as noted, there's also Easter (which falls on the weekend we should be voting) and we'll be too busy trying to catch eggs and eat bunnies, and the following week a Royal Wedding... (which is a bank holiday for us in the UK):D

I'd just like to say I really liked No One's and Oxman's stories last month.

Many thanks HJ - always appreciated.

Well my story is in. I was really struggling this month and the longer I left it the more I saw other people posting ideas that I was toying with. I figured I'd better run with this one before someone else got in.

WOW! I second J Riff. Might just be the best month of stories ever.

DZ catches the madness of fame and the intense desire to create.

TE great story! I assume that you know that Azariah is translated "Yahweh (God) Has Helped" Brilliant.

TEIN true to his name sees the end of meat eating. Yuch!

N.O. has nailed the idea of a lot of Country Music, real truth with the wolf at the door.

----

Thanks for the kind words H B

I don't have an entry, but I do have an idea that I'm struggling with. I hope I win that struggle!

A few minutes to myself, so I'll try and do a few quick comments on the latest entries:

Reiver33 – Okay to be honest this seemed to be leaving me a bit cold, that was until the last line. Everything clicked into place, and it just worked. Loved it.

TheDustyZebra – Yet another excellent bit of writing. Posing an interesting question over the choice of long time mediocre life or that moment of greatness for which you will always be remembered, but that life cut short. Well realised.

Teresa Edgerton – Loved this one from the moment I read it, the affluent self absorbed people being touched by the angel even though they don’t realise it... wonderful. I’m never going to look at the guitar player in town the same way again. (He might play well-ish, but can’t sing worth beans so I don’t think I’ve overlooked something)

TheEndIsNigh – I laughed out loud at this one TEIN, I don’t know if I should have, but thought it was a great little tale with a spot on last line.

No One – I felt this to be a well written maudlin piece, evocative with a inevitable ending waiting .

It keeps needing to be said just how phenomenal the entries have been this month (not that last month saw anything less). I really don't know just how I'm going to choose.

Perhaps we should have a month where there is no vote and everyone is listed as a winner? ;)

For some reason as far as my own has gone I ended up with (blushes) 7 stories, dropped two, one because I just did not like it much, the other because it was a bit like another here (Chris' was a lot better though) and that left 5.

Still trying to make up my mind...

Parson: It's Friday, so you should be OK.

Perpetual Man: If I can bring a little happiness into the world as we all wait.:)

Thank you both for the mention.

PS Perp. I hope that doesn't end up being your entry. :)

Looks innocent. "What doesn't"?

Precise Calibre, reiver33 and myself; all basically the same theme, but oh, how different the treatments. And after the time it took me convincing myself that it was impossible to find the extra words for the two more strophes needed to make the chord sequence end up right, I wasn't going to dump mine just because someone else had a somewhat similar idea.

Thanks, HB, Parson and PM, for the mentions! I could really have used an extra five words this time! Too bad we don't have rollover words, but I wouldn't have any anyway, because I always use them all.

I was a bit leery of posting after Reiver's absolute gem, and then Teresa came in after me, but at least I'm in good company!

Thank you to everyone who mentioned my story!

Parson, I did know the meaning of the name, but only because I came across it when I was checking to see if I remembered something else correctly.

In this instance: I had the idea floating around the vacuous space in my head, I'd already got a few others, but I just wanted to finish it, no matter how loosely.

one of the others was almost certainly going to be my choice.

I think.

Maybe.

Thanks to Parson and Perpetual Man for the kind words.

There's a couple of reference points to the story, but I'll be a good boy and leave all that til after voting.

On a side note, I too was thinking of something of a cosmic angle to a story, but I didn't want to follow Chrispy's excellent entry, not to mention Reiver's.

Well after a lot of hard thought, beating friends around the head, I've posted. I'm not too sure it is the right one, but I'm quite happy with it.

Yup, I've dropped one of three because of reiver's. My second last sentence was "Listen..." and there were planets disappearing. I don't mind this - anything that helps me make up my mind is useful.
