Yeah, just a one day affair. Only my second time actually, haven't had a good chance to look around. Looks pretty nice though. No sign of flood damage.

May I saw WOW this is a diverse set of enteries.

I've just scribbled down my first draft, and I think perhaps I should be worried - it's come in at 75 words exactly. Something tells me this one's going to be a toughie :O

It's hard to be humble when you're perfect.:D

Just go with it, Lola-that's what I did with mine, each and every time.

Of course, this month's was put in just a little bit after the thread came back.....Judge was pretty surprised about that.....

Why is that a reason to worry? My first draft this month came out at around 110 words. I scrapped 3 or 4 versions of the story before I ended up with the one I submitted + about 15 words, which then got butchered into the final version at exactly 75 words. Which reminds me, I have some leftover words and punctuation if anyone wants them, otherwise the scraps just get tossed to the writing beast which lives inside my computer.

"Paranormal Romance" as it is called (by the publishers who specialize in it) is actually Romance with elements of Science Fiction or Fantasy -- or SFF with elements of romance. I think I provided a link somewhere in this thread, but that was probably many pages ago, so for those who missed it and are still confused:

Paranormal romance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cool! Thanks for the clearing that up for me.
*Runs back to polishing attempt the third*

To all,

To avoid any confusion with other Aun Doorbacks around the world (With political 'passions') I shall be changing my name to simply Doorback, just as soon as I figure out how! I grew up with reading Henry Treece's novels and loved Norse sagas. Sorry - Carry on everyone.

Every month I say I won't read the entries until they're all in, (because I figure it would make choosing a winner easier) and every month I think 'just one little peek'... The level of writing just keeps going up and up and up, and personally, I think this is the best thread on the Chrons by far.

Mind you, there's the 300 word story to come... (buries head under pillow at the thought of more choices to be made)

Even with the Single Transferable Vote, you can't tranfer your vote to a different election. Sorry.

I almost missed last time's voting deadline because I couldn't make up my mind. The margins for voting seem a little... small. But not so small as to make it impossible.

Oh and Boneman, James Brown was on the radio with "I'm a Soul man", I was wondering if you sing "I'm a Boneman" when it comes on :p

slack's illusion of doubles story is both thought-provoking and scary... the idea of your partner being replaced by an identical-looking imposter, although my wife sometimes thinks I've been replaced by a cardboard cut-out!

Well, posted it. It isn't what I wanted it to be; I don't think I have an ounce of romance in my overweight body. Happy ending, though. Now I can think about the three-hundred attempt.
