GOT- Things I'm Looking Forward to SPOILERS

I wouldn't say I was offended exactly by the nudity. I'm pretty open minded and not particularly prudish. However I feel that much of the nudity really does little to enhance the plot. It's there for either shock value or titillation and nothing else, and that bothers me a little. I feel that the story is good enough to stand on its own without all the boob shots to boost the ratings. I was fine with Dany's wedding night, for instance, because that was relevant and necessary, but Roz flashing her pink bits at Theon felt a bit trashy, to be honest.

Haven't seen Spartacus, as I really don't watch that much TV, but a guy at work raves about it, so I may yet check it out.

You would think Mel's nudity would be the birth scene, but given the way things are going, I wouldn't be in the least surprised if they decide that some of her ceremonies (like maybe burning the statues of the seven gods) should be carried out naked. Or they'll have her bonking Stannis!

Spartacus is B-tv genius.

Stannis in a romantic scene is the equivalent of seeing a grandparent in their undies.

Mood killer.

I've yet to meet a female who would like the Spartacus series :D

So is Camelot that bad? I thought I'd check it out in the summer as most of my fav series are on summer break...

LMAO Wiggum! :D:D

@Hadd See, when you say women don't like a TV prog, that just makes me want to watch it more!

This is no joke.

My 70 year old mother adores it and introduced me to the series.

The boobs, blood and butts description is actually hers.

It's a bit awkward watching it with her though.

Don't forget that they'd have to shave all that orange and black fur off first. (Have you ever seen one of the bald breeds of house cat? The poor things are ugly.)

So, does Loras do the shaving? Kidding!! Let's not go there! ;)

Wiggum, you're making me want to watch Spartacus more and more (though definitely not with my mother!)

On top of everything already said I really want to see Dany's jaunt through the House of the Undying. The visions should be very epic.

minor nitpick on show thusfar: they weren't anal about the eye colors! Mainly Dany's eyes and Tyrion's.

Lofwyr, I totally agree with you on this! The whole scene is so abstract and trippy I just can't wait to see how that translates to screen (I think it's one of the few scene in the book that can only be enhanced on screen what with the mad visuals and all.

Additionally, I also agree about the nitpick of eye color. It's stated repeatedly about the unique purple color of Dany's eyes which, in combination with her hair, makes her incredibly distinctive and unforgettable. As for Tyrion, Peter Dinklage is amazing, and exactly who I expected them to cast both for his obvious stature as well as his mad acting chops, but he is far better looking than book Tyrion. A large part of what unsettles people so much when dealing with Tyrion isn't just dwarfism and subsequent and deformity (his stride namely), it's the mismatched color of his eyes which, according to the vast majority of the populace, makes him completely untrustworthy. As Tyrion's portrayer is very handsome, it would have been nice to see the mismatched eyes to give him that "untrustworthy" aspect and not focusing solely on his lack of height.

As Conor and Messana both said, seeing a quality flashback of Rhaegar and Robert on the Trident would be epic and awesome. I'm sure they'll have to do it at some point. Even more so with Rhaegar and Lyanna with both the Harrenhal tourney and the Tower of Joy. (Of course, being a R+L fan, I'm going to seriously lament when Robert spanks Rhaegar.)

Wiggum, LOL! That totally just made my day.

As for what I want/ed to see in GoT, I was really happy in this last episode that they did in fact show it. I always loved the scene when Robb is supping with all his bannermen and the Greatjon gives him attitude with a side dish of threatening, Grey Wind removes his fingers, Robb waits for the Greatjon to murder him right there, and the Greatjon just starts laughing with "Your meat is bloody tough!" So I was really thrilled they kept that in.

I'm really interested to see how they're going to do the "Baelor's Sept" scene in what I'm assuming is the next episode. We see it through Arya in the book chapter, so I'm looking forward to how they approach that.

I'm female and I loved Spartacus, but I'm not familiar with the source material so no idea if the sex was added after to get ratings lol

I'm with you on the eyes. It wouldn't have been too much of a stretch to get violet ones for the Targs and a single one of a differing colour to Dinklage's eyes.

As for the horrific features, yes Dinklage is too good looking really, but he ticks the main boxes - a dwarf who can act. And besides, they could be giving Dinklage a break from prosthetics until 2/3rds of the way through season 2...where he may very well be noseless if they sick to the plot (I wouldn't be surprised though if Tyrion just gets a nasty looking scar after Blackwater).

Personally, there's so much I'm looking forward to. The series has done a hell of a lot right. But I guess I'm excited to see Oberyn appear and his combat trial with Gregor.

And bigger Direwolves.

And the Red Wedding.

One thing I am NOT looking forward to is seeing Drogo go. In the books, I didn't mind him, but the personification of him in the show is so good I will miss him more than when reading about his death!

Oxamn, bang on with that post!

I too will miss Drogo. Jason Momoa has done an absolutely awesome job as did Miltos Yeromiltou as Syrio. Two great performances we unfortunately will not see after this season.

I agree with you both on this! They both will be sorely missed.

Oxamn- I am SO with you on the Red Wedding! I just reread that bit this morning on my way to work and as usual, it wrenches my heart. And having the imagery from the book fresh in my mind, that scene is candy for visual arts. (And if it manages to destroy me the way the book does, it's win.)

Regarding my eye color nitpick - I read later that the producers tried to use colored contacts and that they looked bad. If they were really awful then I'm happy they went with natural instead.

And Drogo's exit will be very sad. I really like how Momoa's played him and the fight scene we saw him in was awesome.

Heh, I keep quoting you Lyanna. I'm not stalking you, I swear.

I agree with you, regardless. I feel that HBO's Tyrion is basically a mini-Lannister. He is far too pretty to be the ugly dwarf described by Martin. That said, I can't wait to see how they do the mutilation of his nose.

I suspect that the wound to his nose won't be nearly as bad in the series. It doesn't really affect the plot except to make him even more respulsive, so why create more work for the makeup people if they don't have to.

Jaime's hand on the other hand........................

They sure the Hell better have the dragons in the very last scene...

Dany emerging from the fire unburnt with the dragons - Fire and Blood! The House Targaryen motto.

They'll have to show the dragons moving, I hope they spent a little coin on some CGI...or will they use stuffed animals?

GRRM confirms that some 6 roles, some major and some minor, have been cast for season 2 and are currently going through negotiations with HBO so cannot reveal them yet. No Froggy.

Filming starts in July.
