Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

As far as I am concerned, you can start the thread and post the theme now, but I suggest keeping it locked for entries until the 1st.

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

The pedant in me says a June Challenge shouldn't start until it's June somewhere on the globe. But if it's going to be as difficult (for me) as Ursa's theme and genre I'm going to need all the extra time I can get...

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

Oh, good grief.

And where's the extra word come from?

EDIT: ... and disappeared to...

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

*Coughs delicately*

Uh, Chris? The pedant in me just noticed this:
Write a story inspired by the chosen theme in no more than 76 words
Are we changing the rules, mmm?

:p:D

Edit - ah, shoot. Her Honour got in before me :(

Do you like Kipling? I don't know, I've never kippled... Fancy having a monoker like Rudyard for your first name - I bet he was teased in primary school (1st to 5th grade forAmericans).

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

I think at this rate Chris is going to need sustenance -- if not nourishment -- from If...

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you...

And I just can't wait for the references to exceedingly good cakes...

EDIT: And I knew that one was coming, too, Boneman...

NB: Time for a new Discussion thread?

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

I never did like Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks. Personally I find lyrical and poetic genius to be more descriptive to Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull...and no, I have no plans for using any Jethro Tull songs in this challenge.

I'm a Jethro Tull fan too, but "Landslide" is a great, great song, IMO. The Smashing Pumpkins cover, believe it or not, is especially brilliant.

As for the challenge ... I'm going to be more careful who I vote for in future. ;)

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

I was joking when said a genre of "Physics Textbook." I'm not joking now; I'll take the textbook.

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

And the extra word is gone.

Yes, I think we could use a new Discussion thread. Would you like to start it, TJ?

Re: DISCUSSION -- The 75 Word Challenge May 2011

Many congrats to the semi colon kid.

Well deserved.

I voted for the winner again. Does anybody want next weeks lottery numbers?
