Ah, yes that would be the one.

It seems like only a few month since mosaix put it up!

Time flies.

Well, whether some of us say so in that thread or not, we do very much look forward to your reviews and read them eagerly as they appear.

Thanks Perp for the review and comments! To me it was interesting in that I found such an old reference to a set of scales in the legal system from Egyptian times - I would post a pic here but will wait until the end of voting.

Years and years ago, I wrote an SF comic strip featuring the Egyptian Gods, and really enjoyed it at the time. Your story brought it all back in waves of nostalgia.

I'll have to try and dig it out sometime.

Perp - others are saying it; for what it's worth I'll add my piece. Over the past eight months, your comments - indeed those of all who participate, have eased their way into my 'enjoymentosphere'. Measure your measure, your comments are a big part of the fun.

Really enjoying the stories so far this month: Phyrebrat & Highlander, I read yours after a hideous drive through late afternoon traffic in drizzle and low sun - both were oil for the soul!

Thanks for the comment Perpetual Man. If you can riff a story off of it, do so! I got the idea by watching the trailer for 'Wrath of the Titans' and trying to justify the heavy metal soundtrack to myself....

PM I'm sorry for making you squeamish about olive oil ;) especially after receiving another one of your great reviews. Thank you!

And stormcrow thank you, too. I enjoyed your pun and am particularly glad you enjoyed my submission as your entry was one of the ones I was wrestling over earlier in this thread when I asked for someone to break the stalemate.

Frustratingly (he said, with a dreaded adverb), one story that has been posted since then has added to the stalemate rather than break it! So now there are three that are causing me particular concern as to what I will do when it comes time to cast my vote (or stone ).

Great entries all around. Did anyone have a bit of a problem coming up with something? I kept mixing up the theme with the genre and then having a 'doh!' moment. Sometimes the richest stimuli are the most difficult.

Hmm ... I'm down to 24 hours and still can't decide whether to post the story I have or find something else to write.

I'm in pretty much the same boat, Dusty. I've written something- it contains a genuine bit of British biker lore as well as referring to a (contemporary) folk song, but I'm not sure it is really about justice.

Parson posts his story with much trepidation. Justice, mercy, and grace are words my life is shaped by. I am afraid of not doing them .... well justice.:D

I tried the whole write something and sit on it for a few days, then look at it again with fresh eyes thing.

It didn't work. I forgot about it for nearly two weeks. When I came back, I still didn't have anything better ideas wise, and all I could do was tinker with one or two words.

At least you have something to draw upon. Justice and injustice are things that happen to other people. I've never experienced either

I dunno... is it just that we live in the 'developed world' with so many resources we can squander them without thinking about it, while so many people don't?

Is it just that we buy things that are cheap because they're made by those paid almost nothing, with few of the rights that we enjoy?

It's hard to get away from injustice, really.

I found the myth element more difficult than the justice, and envy those who've written modern myths. It was definitely a challenging month. (adds TJ to the invisible list of those to think twice about before voting...)

I must admit I was all set to give this month a miss. I had a sudden flash of inspiration whilst emptying the bins one morning, which could explain a few things :)

Perp, I'd like to join others in mentioning that your comments are one of the challenge highlights. They make voting harder rather than easier though, since you manage to make everything sound like a work of genius.

True, but the victims are remote and the perpetrators faceless. Doesn't make it any less wrong, but is it worse to feel righteous indignation every time you watch something horrible on the news, and be a hypocrite for never acting on it, or shrug your shoulders and say "not my problem" and so become morally vacant?

I'd like to think I'm doing my bit in some small way by making informed choices in my daily life, but damn it, Nestle' are the only company that make Kit-Kats. Any that's hardly "legendary"

I feel your pain. I used to like Kit Kats too :)

I didn't mean to be confrontational -- I just meant most things in our lives can be cast in terms of justice and injustice (and I was possibly influenced by just having finished Beauty -- let's blame Sheri Tepper).

ps: Perp -- I love your comments. Like others have said, they add so much to the challenges.
