Scrumper?!?! Is that West Countryish for something? ;)

And I still like Kit Kats, especially the chunky ones.

I had nothing until this afternoon. But worrying whether the car would pass the MOT - no: wondering what enormous sum getting it to pass would require - worked wonders. Very small ones, mind, but just enough to help me get something down on paper.

By the way, if anyone's interested, I counted 'cross-examination' as two words, as both it and cross examination are valid and I wanted to be safe. However, I didn't want to omit the hyphen because it might have led people to question the emotional state of the... er... cross examiner (;)). It can happen (and has, with 'single-seat'), so I thought I'd be extra careful. :)

Thanks Perpetual Man, that's a great review, I've been enjoying all your other reviews for this thread and waiting with nervous anticipation for mine! Not having posted anything up here before...Thanks!

Now to choose...difficult indeed

Before people start choosing their winners, be aware that there are probably a few more entries to come in, as there are still more than five hours to go. (I posted unusually early, probably a side effect of not having to have anything done to get the car trough the MOT :))

So yes, there's likely to be a lot of coming and going.

Right. Voters shouldn't jump the gun, but those who haven't submitted their stories yet should be aware that time's awastin'.

By my reckoning, we have at least two notoriously late mods - sorry, posters - to go before we're there, yet. Plus whoever else is stewing on it. Which means, it's all going to get even blinkin' harder - and I already have a headache.... :)

ahem I shall amend that - one ...

OK, I've posted it - But I'm still not sure if it is about justice. Rough justice, maybe.

Ok, TJ is now inextricably intertwined with CJ in my mind, which, oddly enough, doesn't seem weird.

Non-Americans and others whom I just lost with that statement, look up "West Wing CJ Cregg Jackal" and watch it. :D

mosaix, that's brilliant. :D

Darn, too many good ones to choose from!

Lordy, I just had a read, and have a shortlist of 10, and that was hard to get to... another check in the morning for any last minutes and then a serious coffee break needed....

Yeah i have done a reread and have a shortlist already...not 100% on the vote yet.

Good work everyone...i am sure a couple more stories will sneak in under the wire so i will be sure to check them out.

For some of us living in the UK a few decades back, CJ will always be Reggie Perrin's boss, as portrayed by John Barron.

His catchphrases, ones beginning with "I didn't get where I am today by..." and "Neither Mrs CJ nor I have ever..." will forever be burnt into my memory.
