My Shortlist

Teresa
rj dando
vertigo
Aun Doorback (like the play on words...good stuff)
Perp
Phoenixthewriter
Moonbat

And Vote goes to Moonbat!!!

Springs and Perpetual Man Thanks for the short listings. It made my day. I wasn't sure if my story would communicate what i wanted it to say, but as usual Perp nailed it in his synopsis.

thanks for the shortlist johnny jet I really appreciate it, I will get to reading all the entries when I get off work at midnight and i'll put my shortlist on by morning hopefully.

Thank you to those who short-listed my entry! Mine is as follows:

RCGrant
Stevietee
Perpetual Man
Sapheron
StilLearning

And my vote went to Stevietee - I kept coming back to yours, I liked the twist and that it was original legend rather than playing on existing ones.

As a side note, I read through the entries while listening to Two Steps From Hell (check them out on YouTube - epic fantasy-esque soundtrack music, probably do a lot of game soundtracks) - wow, that was stirring! *grin*

So, after quite some thinkery...

(reasons after voting - yes)

My shortlist - in no particular order:

RcGrant
Grimbear
Bowler 1
Abernovo
Lilmizflashythang
Phyrebrat
Highlander
The Dusty Zebra
Aun Doorback
HareBrain
Culwhch
springs

My vote this month for RcGrant for such a complete story.

Thanks for the mentions Hex, Bowler1, Perp Man, Abernovo and johnnyjet. And even more thanks to Luiglin for the vote.

My own deliberations:

Honourable mentions to-

Luiglin
Springs (I know what it means! I know what it means! But it took me three reads)
Teresa Edgerton
Crystal Haven
Glen
Moonbat
HareBrain
mosaix

Shortlist

Sapheron
Perpetual Man

The Judge

And the votegetter is-

Perpetual Man

Thank you for the short listing, stormcrow. :)

There I was delighted to get another short listing From RJ and I noticed Al had mentioned me too.

So imagine my delight to scroll down the page and see I'd got a vote.

Many thanks, made my day!

Just had a bit of time to through my shortlist and whittle it down a bit:

R C Grant
Grimbear
PM
Teresa
Al
Highlander
Parson

Those in bold are my final four, and in the end PM came in sooooo close (again), but I just felt there was something in Parson's that deserved recognition.

So, he got my vote.

OK, lets make sure that I get in on time this month.......

Shortlist: -

Johnny Jet
Sapheron
HareBrain
Phoenixthewriter
Culhwch

And, for the first time, I'm doing a (very much) shorter list because there were two stories that really stood out for me. I really wish I could vote for both of them......

Very very short list:

Culhwch
HareBrain

And my vote goes to: - HareBrain

Thanks for the mentions JohnnyJet, Kylara and Bowler

And thanks for the lovely review PerpetualMan.

Many many thanks to Ratsy, Perpetual Man, Johnny Jet, and High Eight for the mentions. Long list or short, I made enough of an impact for a nod, and that makes my day!

My vote goes to Still Learning. Something about the ending made me chuckle, and despite the wondrous entries I had read, I felt this one deserved a little more recognition.

Shortlist:

Harebrain
DEO
PM (novel use of Robin Hood, had I read through the entries beforehand I may not have used him myself)
Perpetual Man
Alchemist

Thanks for the short listing Luiglin; it's very much appreciated. :D

My long list:

RcGrant
Grimbear
stevietee
Aun Doorback
Sapheron
Perpetual Man
Phoenixthewriter
mosaix

And my short list:

springs
Brev
Boneman
Ursa major

My vote goes to springs.

Your boat won the race, springs. Or maybe you cheated...? ;)

Thanks for the short listing Phoenix. (and to Scott for the same who sneakily posted as I was typing)

There have been a lot of appreciation for my comments this month, for which I am very grateful, and glad that everyone enjoys them. I've been doing them for a long time now and only missed two months.

As long as you all seem to enjoy them I'll do my best to keep going.

What was that?

I'm behind on the 300?

By over a page!

Jeez....
