When I was there with Seph, I did indeed turn sepia! I'm STILL not wholly the right colour... ;)

For any interested, that IS the city of Dundee in the background. I won't go into more detail, because I agree with Teresa, but anyway, Seph and I are looking forward to reading your entries based on his photo. :)

Yes. He's so sorry he hasn't replied. He'll be remedying that shortly (we've had a busy month, and this is the first little rest we've managed).

He shouldn't feel badly about not answering if he's busy. I just wanted to be sure he got it. I know he's set-up to receive email notifications when he gets a PM, but I was afraid that his email address might have changed.

(It occurs to me that you might be able to answer question I asked him, if you read this.)

I suppose that's easier, then, since I'm logged in. He says it's fine just to use "Sephiroth", since he's not bothered about being credited using his real name. :)

That must be the chimney of one of Dundee's infamous cake mills, in which so many died to provide Victorian Edinburgh ladies with their afternoon comestibles.

HB, you got it! Locally it's known as the Stack of Cake Death.

NB - I may be joking (;))... unless anyone wants to write about a Mill of Cake Death? Would be an interesting read!

Dang. I might have used that idea if I hadn't just blathered it to everyone.

Is it too late to edit my previous post to a suspicious-looking blank?

I can see the posted thumbnail image, and its expansion, but no hint of the original.

I'll remind those who know about such things to try and address the issue, reiver. I'm sorry it's taking so long.

Oooh you watch it or we'll come and invade you. With claymores.

(although I think we might have tried that once or twice before).

I'm tempted to ask if you turn to sepia when you arrive there.

Which reminds me of a question one of my children asked me a long time ago. She had the idea that old black-and-white movies depicted life as it really was, and she wanted to know when the whole world turned to color.

That would have been amazing, if it really happened, wouldn't it -- like Dorothy opening the door in The Wizard of Oz.

As an aside there is a film of essentially just that happening, Teresa. I can't remember the title but a teenage brother and sister "step into" an old black and white tv soap and then start accidentally (at first) adding colour. Its actually a fairly vicious satire on racism, so not quite the Wizard of Oz.

Indeed, we have quite a strong contingent up here, doubly so 'cos of where we live!

And don't forget you can give me a knock on the way down. I can fit Ursa in my chariot as we go past Darlington.:)
