My favorite: From the Immolating Diary of Inigo Jones - Lucky_Lola
Where to begin to vote, with genres such?
Should I choose Parson's nurs'ry crime,
The spurring Platty's pennyworth of guy,
Take prizzley's scotch, a single moult,
St. Francis' fiery dragon by the Judge,
Or perchance mosaix' royal dragon queen?
A long perusal; finally I go
Taking inflammatory witch, by TacticalLoco
Chris, Thanks for mentioning me.
On a short list poem I see
For a nursery crime
I will never do time
But for advanced rhyming
Your jail time might be climbing
This month's challenge ended up being a great history review: I kept having to look up names, dates and other bits and pieces to make sure I knew what the hey was going on!!
Probably because of having to research almost everyone's entries, I ended up with loads of favorites... So anyway, my not-so-short list:
springs reiver33 BigJ Lucky Lola TacticalLoco Kylara DavidEvilOverlord alchemist Scott R. Forshaw chopper HareBrain TheDustyZebra
My short-short list is in bold, and my vote goes to TheDustyZebra.
Special mentions!! PerpetualMan for giving me a headache trying to look up all the references (just joking, it was fun, rather like an online treasure hunt!), and also Boneman for best giggle of the day. I might have to print yours up and pin it to my board for when I need to cheer up a bleak morning...
Much thanks for the mention JJ
Chris, I love that your mentions are in verse! I have yet to find your wit anything but endearing.
I'm still looking for my list, I know I made one, but then I went Christmas shopping and did a bit of rearranging in my room. Will look again when I get home from work.
I said I wasn't going to look anything up because I would have to look everything up, but it turned out I didn't have to, because I had a thorough review of the period while trying to find something to write about! By the time I wrote my own story, I discovered I knew what everybody else's were talking about.
Thanks for the vote Perp - I've been zonked out with a terrible cold over the last few days and have not been 'with it' or with IT - This has cheered me up!
...for a beautifully written, wonderfully played-out scenario!
My shortlistees were:
hopewrites - what a brilliant idea! So close!
James Coote - gave me a real sense of the fantastic.
The Judge - love this one from the opening! I'll never think of Drake the same way again!
Parson - this is really clever, and I like the unusual angle.
Aun Doorback - great story, nicely punk!
StilLearning - brilliant re-engineering of history, I like a good battle!
Tactical Loco - what a great character the Red Witch is. Nicely done!
Paranoid Marvin - An interesting "what if..." !
Phyrebrat - laugh out loud, I did!
