Wow.

I have fantasies about that sort of thing* -- two people in a row have voted for my story! And such people. Thank you so much, Parson and stormcrow.

And thank you very much for the shorter listing Johnnyjet.

Hope you feel better soon, Aun.

* I know. I should get out more.

Thanks for the shortlisting, Parson. :)

And thanks for the longlisting, johnnyjet. :)

Well this has to be the toughest month in a few ways. For a Canadian who has no understanding of British History it becomes hard to write or judge stories based in a time period that my country didnt even exist in.

That being said, I did participate and I really appreciate the mentions from TDZ and Johnnyjet

I really enjoyed many stories (when I understood them) but these were the three that stood out to me

TacticalLoco
StillLearning
David Evil Overlord

And in the end my Vote went to DEO for what I would call going a little over board to avoid public humiliation. Think of all the out of work ex-television stars with no Shakespeare to rehash every year!

Thanks for the mention, Parson, and for the sneaky vote, mosaix!

I'm dancing -- but nobody's allowed to watch! :D

Thanks for the nice comments PM and for the short short listing Starbeast.

Here is my rather long short list:

13. Vagabond Punishment Center:
Burning Line For Children Below the Age of Ten – Starbeast

You're welcome Johnnyjet, and thanks for the listing.

StarBeast & Perpetual Man -- Thanks so much for the short listings.

You're welcome Parson.

Now that I have some time, I'll add my Short List

Short List

Springs - Juliana - Luiglin - Paranoid Marvin - Ratsy - BigJ - TacticalLoco - Perpetual man - kshRox - Bowler1 - StilLearning - Chrispenycate - David Evil Overlord - Kylara - Alchemist -
Scott R. Forshaw - Aun Doorback - Boneman - Parson - Johnnyjet - Moonbat

Now safely voted I investigate
The others. Only twenty eight so far?
My famous chart gives the submission list,
And those who've voted.
On one, but not the other we can find:-
The alchemist, and amberwaves (there's no hope there),
BigJ, HareBrain, Culhwch and kshRox,
Moonbat, Kylara, luiglin, and then
The marvin paranoid, Scott R Forshaw,
The spurring Platty, Phyrebrat and the Judge,
And terminate with Ursa, StilLearning.
And I discover that, while I'm behind
The mighty triplet of the triple vote
Still, I am in the second group.

Has Kipling been forgotten – or perchance
Forgiven when compared with Tudor punk?
So thank you Chopper, thanks Kylara too
Thanks for the mentions, from perpet'al man
James Coote and Starbeast and a special one
For Hopewrites, who enjoyed my rhythmic fun.
Now end approaches, and I'm laying down
Pentameter iambic for the nonce
No more attempts to emulate the bard
For common mortals, 'tis excessive hard.

Thanks to TDZ, Springs (jeez, I came so close :D), Perp, johnnyjet, Juliana, and Starbeast for short listing my little tale. And an especially large thanks to DEO, and a very sneaky vote; it made my day. The cheque's in the mail, by the way.

My short list:

Springs
Luiglin
Bowler
DEO
Alchemist
Aun Doorback
Boneman
Ursa

My vote goes to:

Springs.

This one stuck with me right from the start. It was like that annoying drunken friend who always turns up at parties; I really struggled to shake it off :D. A great tale which brought giggles from start to finish with a nice little twist at the end. Super stuff!

Chrispy, I think it's just possible you're not at the top of the list anymore, all right! (Of course, I liked the Kipling, but it wasn't crowded in that room.)

And to think I voted for HB three times in a row.... :D

Thanks for the short listing Starbeast, a pleasant & unexpected surprise!

You're very welcome Perpetual Man.

Thanks for the mentions, from perpet'al man
James Coote and Starbeast

You're welcome Chrispenycate.

Thanks to TDZ, Springs (jeez, I came so close :D), Perp, johnnyjet, Juliana, and Starbeast for short listing my little tale.

You're welcome Scott R. Forshaw. And who knows, you may win next time around.
