DISCUSSION THREAD -- November 75-word challenge

Thanks for the link Springs. I wrote a tale going by the exact discription.

HOWEVER, I looked up "Tudor" in the dictionary (just after I posted), and my tale won't fit because of the historic period of time.

I'm afraid I'm unable to compete this month.

Good luck to eveyone, I'm going to sit this one out.

Starbeast, it's still very early.
Either rework it or start again, unless you are really needing the down time.

I'm with the droves secretly (ok not so secretly) crying over Starbeasts early withdrawal.
true to my name, i'm hoping he gets hit with inspiration a second time and dazzles us all with an unexpected entry.

hairbrain, dearest, the themes you come up with would tempt me to vote for you just to make you do it again.

*does some research on the side while lurking at the boards*

Starbeast, there are still 3 wwks to go so plenty of time to come up with an alternate story. As a Python fan , you do realise that the Spanish Inquisition was alive and kicking (as well as maiming and torturing) during this period, hint-hint (or should that be nudge-nudge, wink-wink?)

Three weeks is a lot of time to think, it may take me that long to formulate something. A funny Spanish Inquisition is a good idea, but I've already done that. Thanks for trying to help me Paranoid Marvin.

I'm hoping Starbeast wasn't being too strict with himself.

It's "Tudor", I'm very unfamiliar with it. It wasn't until after I posted my short story that I began to question what "Tudor" is. Then after I looked it up, I immediately removed my story.

Starbeast, I'm sad at the prospect of not seeing your entry. You've been consistent at bringing a smile to my face in the past. Still, next month. :)

Thanks Abernovo, it's nice to hear that I can brighten someones day with my tales of the unusual. I'm glad I checked this thread today.

I seem to be lost this month. I've read the other stories to get a grip on what is it we're challanged to write, and I'm not sure what to think...or even how to judge the stories. That bothers me that I can't even rate the entries properly, I'm afraid I may be unable to even vote this month either.

Ah well, like you said, there's next month. ;)

Perpetual Man apologises for the lack of comments so far this month, but seems to be caught up in trying to get his own 75 word story down. Normal service will be resumed shortly. He hopes.

No rush for comments, Perp. Good luck with your entry. :)

Thanks Aber. It's annoying, I know what I want to do, but can I make it work... (well in 75 words anyway)

I went for the obvious, I'm afraid. Stuck with the theme but not sure I did the same for the genre? Ah well, I almost gave up so I'm glad I stuck something in.

You had the same thought I did, right down to the title!
I couldn't resist posting on November 5th.

As well as your keen insight, you'll need to be a bit of a histroy buff this month! Rather a tough one this month, methinks n'uncle.

Yes , please don't lose your train of thought for your own entry, there's plenty of time to get your comments done later.

I written a bit of a funny that also features Master Shakespeare, but the fire aspect is lacking. I may post it or I may start from scratch.

I'm still stumped. Inspiration is not usually a problem for me but my muse had decamped and left me to it.

I tried to do some research, but got stuck in a privy cabinet and lost my idea down a hole.

Had a tough time trying to conceptualize anything to write about, hopefully my 75 words lie somewhere within the context of the genre, and hopefully I'm not the only person who knows what an arquebus and matchlock are

Well, that one really baked my noodle! Now that's out of the way I can go back to normal and stop tormenting my poor brain which, I might add, rather struggled with regurgitating some of her 7th form history lessons!

Well I've got mine before me, but for the first time I can remember, despite having everything in place I just cannot make it work.

(In fact I've two running side by side concurrently and they're both in the same boat).

But that being said I'm enjoying the process immensely...

Some really, really good stuff there.

Mine's in tho. Second one written for this exceptionally tough challenge.

Okay, I made a submission but I hope it doesn't burn anyone or make them lose their head . . .

Are they having a row?
