Mine's in. Fortunately for you lot Ratsy got in first with the "Twas the night rhyme" as mine was full of awful puns that would have made you cringe, spill your egg nog and drop your mince pies.

Mine's in too. Almost exactly a year since my first ever posting on Chrons!

Now to have a good read of the others put up so far....

* exhales *

I've had a quick glance through, and am feeling a slight trepidation due to the quality. On top of that Karn's idea is rather a little too close to my own, so I'm going to fall back on plan B*

*Plan B have no idea whatsoever, and write some comments instead.

Sorry I missed last month's challenge and vote. I'd lost my glasses and had a constant headache through squinting at my PC at work. I'm shortsighted so am ok with anything within arm length but the works PC's are set further back than that so it was either pulling the thing closer and sat all scrunched up resulting in neck ache or leaving it how it was and straining my eyes. Then when I did get round to going to opticians I had to wait 3 weeks for my new glasses to arrive, also been referred to hospital.

Perp ... plan B could be a story in itself ... now I must remember my idea for another time.

Some brilliant entries so far. Reiver, give up the military SF - you can do the sexy vampire thing.

My very serious idea has been pushed out of consciousness by a not-serious-at-all idea. Come back....

I'm also advertising this month's photo challenge. The theme is History, which I know will appeal to a number of you.

Karn Maeshalanadae- Congrats for posting first with an excellent vampire Santa tale.

TheDustyZebra - A great sweet story of love and death. And you used the "bow tie" option nicely.

Springs - A fiendishly delightful advertisement. Nice use of fonts and color.

Scott R Forshaw - You had the same idea as I. However, you made it exceptionally better than the way I would have worded it. You added Van Helsing, modern vampire weapons, and completed your tale with a cross. Fantastic.

Reiver33 - From Russia with Vampire Love, very cool. "Is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?"

Ratsy - You (besides Scott) also used another idea that formulated in my mind. And a wonderful blood soaked poem you weaved, marvelous.

Hex - Yes, never invite a vampire in your home. Very spooky. BTW, vampires, terrific idea to combine with Xmas.

Abernovo - Uncle Vlad, that's funny. Santa, elves and the "bow tie" option makes this story a holiday treat.

Luiglin - Excellent Santa surprise gift, he slays vampires! I chuckled at the anticipation for old Saint Nick, that was really good.

Stormcrow - Your story would make a great World War One Horror movie. I really enjoyed it.

Seems to be an awful lot of good stories coming in awfully quick this month.

That's for sure BigJ. I almost went sci-fi like you did.

Very cool space vampire tale.

Ever read the 1970's comic book series called Planet of the Vampires? Unfortunately it only ran three issues, shame too, I was getting into it.

Nope, this is the first I've heard of it. I was also born in the late '80s, so that might have something to do with it . . .

Born in the late '80s? Is this turning into a Young Adult forum or what?

Ban everyone under the age of thirty, that's what I say...

P.S. It's not 'smut' if you enjoyed it.

Good grief, without the young'uns there would be no life round here... I remember the times when the young chappesses and chaps had to jive just to show they were alive.... Picks up zimmer frames and exits left while waving a ty to Aber and Starbeast for their reviews.

Hmm, you might be too late. Thanks for the idea ;)

And for some reason I'm starting to feel a bit old this morning...

Must be the thoughts of doing these comments.

We're all old, Perp (except the young whippersnappers with their strange and alarming fashions).

Thanks for the review SB ... all i can say is if Abraham Lincoln can be a vampire killer then Santa sure as hell can.

Thanks for the kind words, Starbeast.
